The count down starts for the launch of new mid-sized sedan from Maruti,the Ciaz.The sedan will be offered in two variants petrol and diesel,each comprising of four variants.The petrol trim includes VXi,VXi+,ZXi+ and ZXi+ while the diesel range includes VDi,Vdi+,ZDi and ZDi+.

The petrol Ciaz would be powered by 1.4-liter K-Series four-cylinder engine that gets mated to the 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT ,whereas the diesel variant will be powered by Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter Multijet engine producing 90 PS (88.73 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque that gets mated with an only option of a manual gearbox.

Concerning its features,the entry level models will sport out  projector headlamps, keyless entry, electric-operated wing mirrors with incorporated turn indicators, fabric seats with front and rear armrests, and an audio system with USB, Aux-in and memory card support as standard fitment.

When it comes with the mid level variants,along with the aforementioned features,they also tend to get the additional features like  driver-only airbag, climate control, Bluetooth functionality, steering mounted controls, reverse parking sensors, and ABS with EBD.

The top variants would comprise of advanced features like Smart play infotainment system, full leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.Further the features like key less entry with start/stop button, a front passenger airbag, reverse camera, a mix of fabric and leather upholstery, and 15-inch alloy wheels have been provided as standard.

With this feastive season,Maruti Suzuki has launched the limited edition of Celerio named VXi+.The company also offers discounts on the accessories that includes body-coloured outside rear view mirrors and door handles, double DIN stereo system from JVC, an MGA speaker and a car security system at Rs 13,990.The car drives the power from the K-Next 1.0 litre engine that makes up 68PS of power and 90 Nm of torque.This mill gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and an automated manual as an option.The fuel efficiency would come up to 23.1 kmpl.The price range varies from Rs 3.96 lakh to Rs 5.03 lakh.There is also CNG variant which is priced at Rs 4.92 lakh.

Toyota will launch its new variant of Fortuner by the first week of October.As its name suggests,the new variant will be powered up by the 2.5 litre engine that gets mated to a manual transmission.This two-wheel drive variant is expected to claim the fuel efficiency up to 142bhp.It will be ranked below the current 3.0 litre offerings from Toyota.While,the top variant will be the 3.0 litre 4WD which has created a successful mark in  the SUV market as 50% of Fortuner sales goes up with this 4*2 Automatic.It drives out the same power output of 168bhp.Thus with the upcoming new products of Fortuners ,Toyoto tends to attract the its potential buyers.

 

Following the successful  launch of  all new Scorpio, Mahindra now plans to launch its next compact SUV named “Quanto AMT” by the end of this year.The Quanto gets equipped with an AMT that is Automated Manual Transmission especially for making the drive easier and cost effective.It  also helps the automaker to increase its sale in the SUV segment.

The vehicle is employed by a new generation 1.5 litre mCR100 diesel engine that gets mated to the 5-speed automated manual transmission churning out at the maximum of 100 PS of power at 32750 RPM and torque of 240Nm between 1600-2800 RPM. The mileage might come up to 17.21 kmpl.

Autoshift that comes along with some advanced technologies that includes advanced electronic control and hydraulic actuation has been implemented mainly to sense the demand of power and to change the gear accordingly.This AMT unit has been developed in collaboration between Mahindra and Ricardo. Mahindra promises over the factors like  hassle free driving experience and improved fuel economy through the provision of this transmission unit.

Apart from the mechanical changes,certain cosmetic upgradations have  been made to both the exterior and the interior portions.The  suspension system too have undergone some changes. The SUV gets the  seating configuration of 5+2 flexible yoga seats with splits in a 60:40 ratio which can be folded for seating and storage space.It is expected that the Quanto will be priced higher than the regular Quanto Variants.

Skoda Auto India revolutionize the C segment with the new Rapid that comes with 1.5 TDI diesel engine option.There are provisions to choose among the the two transmission units,one is the 7 speed automatic DSG automatic transmission that would deliver the fuel efficiency up to 21.66kmpl and other one is the manual transmission that prompts to give the maximum mileage of 21.14kmpl.Thus,one can get enriched fuel efficiency and uninterrupted power supply while driving.For the petrol variant,price tag would start at RS722,230/-(ex-showroom,Delhi).Whereas the diesel variant would fall under the price bracket of Rs1,097,424.

 

What new about DSG?it is the Skoda’s new dual-clutch Direct Shift Gearbox(DSG) transmission that comprises of the functions of the two transmission structures.It is strange that thought there is no clutch pedal,it makes use of two dry clutches.Depending on the selection of the gear level,automatic control system will actuate both teh clutches.Thus enabling one to achieve excellent acceleration whle operating in the optimum mode.Regarding its exterior design it gives a sporty appearance.The features like headlamps,fog lamps,grille with logo-lip,multi-spoke alloys and external mirrors are blackened.Safety is been ensured with the presence of ABS

(Anti-lock Braking System), EBC (Engine Braking Control), dual rate brake assist, height

adjustable head restraints at front and rear, driver and front passenger airbags.Anothe rinteresting cue is that the the fuel supply cuts off in the event of an accident.With the existence of unique anti-pinch system,one can ensure the safety of the passenger during the ride.Further comfortness is felt with teh climatronic air conditioning system through which one can set the optimum temperature within the cabin.Also the new Rapid gets the adjustable dual rear air conditioning vents on rear centre console for better air distribution.

Apart from its launch details,here we laid before you the cosmetic upgradations , mechanical specifications and  variant details of the Mahindra Scorpio.

Regarding the mechanical specifications, there are two options with the engines, one is the 2.5 litre,four cylinder m2DiCr and the other one is the 2.2 litre  mHawk engine.S4,S6,S6+,S8 and S10 trims are powered by the 2.2 litre mHawk engine. While the 2.5 litre m2SiCr will power up the base S2 trim.

Regarding S2, it tends to get the following features as standard that includes air-conditioning, steering, power windows, central locking and 15-inch steel wheels. Further it gets the 7 and 9 seater arrangement.

Next comes the S4, it gets all the features of S2 that is entry level variant with 7 and 9 seater arrangement that too comes along with the provision of  side facing configuration. Inaddition to this, it gets tilt adjustable steering wheel and bigger 17-inch steel rims. Also, the 4WD option have also been added to it.

When it comes with the S6 trim, it carries over all the features of the lower trims especially the provision of choosing among the 7 seater side facing and 8-seater front facing configurations. Further it includes integrated 2-DIN music system, remote central locking, sliding seats for the middle row, rear wiper and defogger. Body colored doorhandles, wing mirrors, rear spoiler and a roof rack are also being added to it.

The variant S6+ tends to get airbags for the driver and the front passenger along with the features of the varaint S6 trim.

The variant S8 the safety features have been enhanced with the provision of dual airbags and ABS.Regarding seating configurations,in addition to the existing 7 seater front-facing and 8 seater side-facing configurations,7 seater (captain seating) is also being provided.

Only the variant S10  gets the standard LED eyebrows. For entertainment purpose,6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation is being provided as a standard on S10 variant.Further its prominent features include touch-screen infotainment system, rain and light sensors, steering-mounted audio and cruise control switches, reverse parking assist, Micro-Hybrid technology. As like that of the variant S4,4WD is also being provided as one of the options.

On the whole the hexagonal unit and the functional bonnet scoop are new. Even the fender gets the new benzel. The other features include LED tail lamps and 17-inch wheels. The rear end gets new. The interior is built enriched quality with good fit and finish. Riding quality has been improved with the new suspension system
