The production version of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Xrest which was presented at the 2014 Auto Show has been spotted.Mechanically no changes are seen,since the same 1-litre K10B engine that gets mated to a 5-speed transmission unit is to power up the car with 68 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque.But in terms of cosmetic upgradtions,Maruti Wagon R Xrest flaunts a black plastic cladding around the lower part of the body,silver skid on the sides,darkened tail-lamps,new look air vents flanked by plastic black garnish,roof rails and alloy wheels.Further,it gets the dual-tone treatment along with some plastic bits being get  added thus  giving Wagon R Xrest a crossover look whilst the interior part gets a beige and black-tone embellishment.Unfortunately,the black cladding doesn’t extend to the rear bumper of the Wagon R Xrest that was spotted.The front fascia gets smoked projector headlamps a new look radiator grille,the same black plastic cladding as on the sides,and a silver colored bumper lip.Already Wagon R’s CNG variant does well in certain cities,so it is time for MSIL to reveal that  the upcoming variant would be  launched as a petrol option only.

 

According to a new revelation,the upcoming Hero Xtreme Sports might be priced at Rs 70,300(ex-showroom,Pune),which makes it Rs3,000 more expensive than the standard version.Though it was showcased earlier at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo,the dispatch to the showrooms has started recently only.Its launch date still remain to be a hidden secret like that of new Karizma and Splendor Pro Classic,we could also expect the Delhi-based manufacturer to silently launch the motorcycle in the Indian market.Regarding the engine options,Xtreme Sports would share the same 149.2cc engine .Though the torque figure remain to be the same 12.8Nm the power output has been bumped from 14.2bhp to 15.2bhp.This mill gets mated to a 5-speed transmission unit.In terms of styling traits,the bike gets the new cowl underneath the engine and one on the fuel tank.In general,Hero Motorcorp would introduce new decals and color options on the updated Hero models,we could expect the Hero Xtreme Sport also to get the same.

India-bound Suzuki SX4 S Cross was unveiled at Guangzhou Motor Show.It is also expected to arrive at the Indian market in the early 2015.The looks are so masculine,with the dual tone scheme running across the body to the black plastic cladding,adding slight ruggedness to the design.The cabin inside the car gives the premium feel.It will be offered in the petrol,diesel version and later CNG version is also hoped to be added.We could expect this price tag that could vary between Rs8-11 lakhs.It would give its competitors like Ford EcoSport,the Renault Duster and the upcoming Hyundai ix25 and the recently launched Mahindra Scorpio a little bit challenge.

For the first time,the spy shots of the new Maruti compact SUV codenamed YBA has been spied out.It is almost in a production ready form,so it could be expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 as Maruti iV4.Now lets have a closer view at this silhouette.It gets a good mix of sporty and rugged appearance thus looking more exciting than the new YRA premium hatchback.Following the new and bigger Suzuki Vitara SUV,albeit YBA,an even more compact version(obvious from its length that will measure about less than 4 metres), has been spawned out from the design traits of the Suzuki iV-4 concept SUV showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show.The crossover retains the following features like tapering window line, angular tail-lamps and the ‘open-mouthed’ lower air dam.However,the grille has been toned down to a simpler one with horizontal slats rather than the vertical ones.Further the wheel arches don’t have the excessive cladding and the windscreen is steeply racked back.The glasshouse gets a  a cockpit-like look due to the presence of a floating C-pillar.This compact SUV is likely to wear its spare wheel on its tailgate yet the spy shots doesn’t reveal anything about this.The engine option is to be carried over from the Maruti’s existing range of the engines.To compete with its rival EcoSport, YBA that gets muscular styling is about to be packed with a lot of equipment.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India(HMSI) has unveiled that they would launch the CB Unicorn 160 this year.It has been done with a goal to regain their lost spot in the 150-180 cc commuter segment in India.Here we laid you with the spy pics of the upcoming bike,picture credits to the bike wale site .Concerning the engine options,it is expected that it might get a single-cylinder 160cc four-stroke mill,which could deliver the power of more than 14hp.This 14hp of power is being produced by the current 150cc motor engine that gets mated to a five-speed transmission.This gearbox would be carried straight away to the upcoming bike.

Earlier we reported that the Bajaj is about to bring a new commuter motorcycle in the Platina segment by the next year,most probably in the first half of 2015.Now here we provide you with the spy shots of the test mules implying that there could be two versions of the Platina.It is obvious from the silhouette  -one bike with camouflage and the other one remain uncovered,thus two versions.Looking close to the images,one thing is clear that design traits haven’t undergone any changes,except for a new variety of colors and decals that are likely to be introduced.Regarding the engine options,we could expect the new Platina to get a new 100 cc engine targeting at more power and better efficiency.Besides,125cc engine can also be expected for usage.

Suzuki is about to unveil the new Alto,a replacement for the old Alto,which had already made its debut in 2009 at Tokyo Motor Show,by 22nd December for the Japanese markets.Here are the spy shots of the upcoming ‘ Kei car’ revealing that there would be more than one version of the new Alto.Besides,according to a new revelation,it is expected that turbocharged variant could also be offered.Sharply cut headlights, a retro grille and bumper and an interesting upward kink for the rear window tends to give this car a sportier look.Also a dual-tone version with black bumpers, wing mirror covers and side cladding which is seen here gets a hood scoop, fog lights and position lights,thus boasting a sportier look.It is unclear that whether the new model would get the same or an updated version of the three-cylinder 0.66-liter gasoline engine found on the older Alto.This engine has a tendency to deliver the power of about  54 PS at 6,500 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm.When it comes with the transmission unit,the new model is expected to get a more efficient CVT rather than a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox of the older ones.Further to increase the fuel efficiency,Suzuki comes forward to offer  2WD and 4WD on the car,thus the company claim the fuel efficiency to be more than 21kmpl.

 

The sources revealed that Mahindra and Mahindra is about to launch three products next year,out of which two are sub-4 meter compact SUV.This statement was made by PTI,Dr.Pawan Goenka,Executive Director of MAhindra & Mahindra.These two models code named S101 and U301 are under testing.Similar to the hatchbacks like the Maruti Swift and Polo,S101 would also come under the hood of B-segment,however there is a new revelation that the design traits and seating position of the SUV would be crossover.Moreover,S101 is expected to be built over a new three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines based on a monocoque platform(the second monocoque for Mahindra after the XUV500) and could receive an automated manual transmission.Getting a typical SUV design cues on a boxy shape this test mule U301 will be a replacement for the current Bolero in the market.Further to provide a true off -roadability and ruggedness,a hydro-framed ladder frame chassis would likely to be introduced in the U301.Apart from these SUV,there is a product left unsaid,that is identified to be a commercial vehicle which could be P601(codename).It has spied many a times.Besides to the launch of these products,we might expect the Mahindra to launch an AMT-equipped Quanto and a Scorpio AT and XUV500 Hybrid.

Today Ford has officially revealed the  production version of Endeavour at Bangkok Motor Show whose sales are expected to be rolled out in the global markets of china,Australia,South Africa,New Zealand and India by 2015.The new-gen model was first showcased as the “Everest concept” in Sydney,Australia.This production-ready model underpin its base with the Ford’s Edge design philosophy,thus one thing is clear that it is going to thrive as a premium product globally.Moreover the company has done its part to enhance it’s off-roading capabilities through the provision of a new ladder frame chassis over which the engine is being built on.For a change,leaf spring setup at the rear has been replaced with a new-independent coil-spring layout for an improved riding dynamics.Another noteworthy inclusion is the deployment of “Terrano Response” four wheel drive system that adjusts traction control, engine torque, four-wheel drive system and other components that will help it delver better off-road performance.The intrinsic features are highly inspired from the Ford’s F-105 pick-up,that Ford’s SYNC2 multimedia setup and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that are found in the F-105 are being added to the new-gen model.On seeing this 2015-Endeavour feature packed with exciting features,it is expected that this would be more upmarket than its predecessors.Regarding the engine options,the new model would get two engine options-a 2.2  2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel and a 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel engine globally while the Indian model will get the the existing 2.5-litre and 3.0-litre diesel units.We might expect the new model to get the 6-speed transmission rather than 5-speed manual gearbox,for cruising performance and enhanced fuel efficiency.The price bracket would fall within the range of Rs20 and Rs25 lakhs.

Volkswagen has showcased its innovation on 2L diesel engine and confessed certain facts on the upcoming 10-speed DSG gearbox at a technical presentation in Wolfsburg,Germany.This engine has been designed with an intention to increase the horse power to 272 hp from that of 240hp 2.0 litre TDI bi-turbo engine that forms the base of the newly developed one.The base model would come under the hood of the Latest Passat.It is not clear about the torque figures that the new engine would claim to deliver,but it is expected that it would be above 500Nm figure of the Passat’s 2.0-litre TDI engine.The newly developed engine has been equipped with a two-stage electronically operated turbocharger, a new variable valve timing system, and an updated piezoelectric common rail injection system.It will be soon implemented in the next generation vehicles from VW and Audi.Regarding the upcoming 10-speed DSG gearbox,codenamed DQ551,the sources revealed that the new gearbox has been designed in a manner that it could handle the torque upto 550Nm,promote better fuel economy and enable smoother gear changes.This DQ551 gearbox underpin its base with the 6-speed unit.Volkswagen also feels proud to offer a new coasting function that is programmed to shut off the engine at speeds below 7km/h as well as at high speeds when the engine is at idle state,and a brake energy recuperation system to harness wasted power.
