Hyundai launched LPG variant of i10 hatchback

Hyundai,the Korean car manufacturer has launched a new LPG variant of its i10 hatchback in the price range of Rs.4,16,144 to Rs.4,30,659(Ex-showroom,Delhi).The car holds a factory-fitted LPG kit in it.It also features a special LPG tank which provides a larger boot space.

The new variant of i10 is offered with a 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine capable of running on both LPG and petrol variants.Hyundai offers the car with an alternator management system which helps in controlling the delivery of power to the battery and thus extends the life of battery and also improves the mileage.

Mr.H.W. Park,Managing Director and Chief Executive of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., quoted that the LPG version of their next-gen i10 is a viable alternative for customers looking at low running cost.

The company stated that with separate petrol (35 litre) and LPG (34 litre) tanks, the customers have an option to choose from LPG and petrol modes.It also said that the LPG kit in i10 blue drive is impact resistant and is approved by the department of explosives.

TVS to launch new Apache in India

The fully faired version of TVS Apache RTR 160 has been unveiled in Indonesia and is to be launched soon in India.It is expected that TVS Motors will showcase the bike at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo.The face-lifted Apache features a smarter and a sportier look.The masculine features of the bike include the long headlights,full fairings and the thick tires.Its a major hope that TVS would launch the revised Apache without featuring the expensive spares,vibrating mudguard and the uncomfortable seats of the existing Apache.Like its predecessor,the new Apache will also be a tough competitor to Yamaha R15 and Bajaj Pulsar 150.No doubt,the fully faired Apache will definitely receive a lot of young Indian customers.

Hyundai to launch new Elantra in 2012

Hyundai plans to launch the fifth-generation Elantra in India in the second-half of 2012.We can expect the car in the price range of Rs.13 to 15 lakhs.Hyundai offers the new Elantra in both petrol and diesel engine options and with both six-speed manual and automatic variants.It holds a lot of good features along with a spacious interior.The 2012 Elantra will feature a 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre common rail diesel engine delivering 146bhp and 138bhp of power respectively.

Mahindra launched special edition Rodeo

Tata Motors to launch upgraded Nano this month

Tata Motors plans to launch the face-lifted version of its small car Nano in this month in India.The upgraded Nano will be available in new attractive colours such as pearl-white,orange and green.It gets refreshed interiors and improved mechanics.

The 2012 Nano will feature a passenger-side outside rear-view mirror,a beige-coloured dashboard to brighten up the interiors,new seats and fabric,new front seat headrests,new wheel-cap design and floor mats.Tata Motors offers the new Nano with tweaked suspension setup and an anti-roll bar in order to improve its ride and handling.

The other changed features include a reworked steering geometry and an optimised castor-angle in order to reduce the steering effort.The power generation has been increased from 35bhp to 38bhp.There will not be any major price hike for the new car and most probably the new Nano will also be launched in the same available price tag.It is expected that within one year,the new Nano will be available with a new two-cylinder diesel engine and a more powerful three-cylinder 900cc petrol engine options.

Skoda Rapid price list

Luxury car maker Skoda has launched its entry level C-segment sedan Rapid in India in both manual and automatic variants.It is available in three trim levels and in both petrol and diesel engine options.The three trim levels include Active,Ambition and Elegance.The Elegance variant features 15-inch alloy wheels,driver and passenger airbags.

Rapid is powered by the same 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines of VW Vento which pumps out a power of 105bhp.Rapid looks similar to Skoda’s Fabia and its headlights,grille and the fogs are as same as the Fabia.The car features a new longer bonnet,new fenders,a slightly altered chin at the corners and a new,more sculpted bumper.Its interior is almost similar to VW models except the steering wheel without steering-mounted controls,instrument panel,gearlever and audio system.

The rear part of the car looks completely different and the tail-lights are inserted with Skoda’s “C” motif.Rapid is now available at a starting price of Rs.6.75 lakhs(ex-showroom,Delhi).The ex-showroom prices of the three variants of Rapid in both petrol and diesel engine options are as follows:

i)Active Petrol – Rs.6.75 lakhs & Active Diesel – Rs.7.96 lakhs

ii)Ambition Petrol – Rs.7.09 lakhs & Ambition Diesel – Rs.8.29 lakhs

iii)Elegance Petrol – Rs.7.99 lakhs & Elegance Diesel – Rs.9.19 lakhs

The Automatic variants of Ambition Petrol and Elegance Petrol are Rs.8.09 lakhs and Rs.8.99 lakhs respectively.

Ford to launch Ecosport in India 2

Ford,the American auto maker plans to launch its Ecosport SUV in India in 2012.The car is to be showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo and will be launched in the latter part of the year.Ecosport is built on global compact car platform B2E.It is a sub-four metre car featuring a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

The car looks fresh,boldly designed and well proportioned and it features high bonnet,generous ground clearance,subtle cladding,attractive and striking inverse ā€˜Vā€™ in the nose,a pair of menacing intakes in the chin and the tipped-forward stance.The rear part of the car features pillar-less rear windscreen and sharply cut tail-lights.

Ecosport will be powered by the new 1.5-litre DV5 diesel engine which churns out a power of 90bhp.The overall gearing is expected to be too short.The petrol version of the car will come only later.The tall stance and the high ground clearance of the car will well suit for Indian road conditions.It is expected at an affordable price tag of Rs.7-9 lakhs.

Maruti increases prices of diesel cars

Maruti Suzuki,India’s largest auto maker declared that it has increased the prices of its diesel cars by up to Rs.10,000 in order to compete with the rising input costs.The diesel version of Ritz has been increased up to Rs.2000 and SX4,Swift,Dzire diesel will be Rs.10,000 more than the currently available rate.

Sources informed that there has been a critical upswing in the inputs cost and an adverse appreciation in the Japanese currency yen that had made imports costlier and forced this hike.

Yamaha to launch Fazer 250 in mid-2012

We can expect the Fazer 250 bike of Yamaha in India in the middle of 2012.It features a new stylish design,new dashboard and a new speedometer.The highly powerful 249cc engine of Fazer 250 delivers a power of 21hp and a maximum torque of 20.7Nm.Fazer 250 is expected in the price range of Rs.1.4-1.8 lakhs.

The top-end variant of VW Vento Diesel christened the Highline is offered with some more convenient features which are as follows:
