BMW rolls out M5 super saloon

BMW’s M5 super saloon has been launched today at the Auto Expo.It features a twin-turbo, 4.4-litre V8 engine which delivers 552bhp power and 69.4kgm of max torque.The engine is mated to a seven-speed,dual-clutch transmission unit holding steering-wheel-mounted paddle-shifters.The 19-inch alloy wheels come as its standard fitment.

The M5 sports saloon can hit 100kph in 4.4 seconds and 200kph in just 13 seconds.The car features an M-specific chassis set-up which include M-tuned Servotronic steering, cockpit-adjustable dynamic damping and stability control with an ‘M Dynamic’ setting.It also features steering wheel buttons that can be programmed with chassis.It comes with an aggressive price of Rs.95.9 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Toyota launches new Innova,Fortuner and Land Cruiser 200

Toyota today launched the new Innova, Fortuner and Land Cruiser 200 models at the Auto Expo.The new Camry sedan was also displayed at the event.It will be launched in the third quarter of 2012.The new Camry comes with an integrated touchscreen audio system with DVD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth compatibility. It also gets steering-mounted controls as well as a smart entry system with a start/stop button.The car now sports a better ride comfort, interiors, quality and space.

New Innova

i) Features redesigned headlamps and fog lamps

ii) The front grille of the car looks new and its exterior holds minor upgrades in it

iii) The upgraded interiors of the new Innova offers more luxury and comfort.

iv) It gets steering-mounted controls and a touchscreen display with DVD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth.

v) The new Innova is launched in the price range of Rs.9,40,200 to Rs.13,19,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

New Fortuner

i) Powered by a 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engine in both four and two wheel drive versions

ii) It comes with 2WD 5-speed manual transmission and 2WD 4-speed automatic transmission options

iii) The upgraded exterior features include a new inverted trapezoidal grille, automatic HID headlamps and alloy wheels

iv) The upgraded interiors gets a black wood finish and the car also sports a 2DIN six-inch touchscreen system with DVD, AUX, USB and Bluetooth compatibility

v) It is priced at Rs.19,99,000 for the 4×2 Manual, Rs.20,69,000 for the 4×2 Automatic and Rs.20,99,000 for the 4×4 Manual.

New Land Cruiser 200

i) Gets a new 4.5-litre turbo diesel engine with a new six-speed automatic transmission

ii) Both the interior and the exterior design of the car gets changed and is priced between Rs.87,55,000 and Rs.89,55,000

iii) Bookings of the car start from today onwards.

Chevrolet unveils upgraded Captiva

At the Auto Expo,Chevrolet also unveils the updated Captiva along with the Tavera Neo3.

The car now sports a courageous look with a larger split grille and a new front bumper.It is powered by a new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.However,there are no major changes in its interiors which now gets cruise control and rain-sensing wipers.

The upgraded Captiva is expected to go on sale within the first quarter of 2012.

Chevrolet CN100 MPV

Chevrolet is in the plan to roll out its new Wulling based MPV known as CN100. The important feature of the car will be Fiat’s 1.3 litre multi-jet diesel engine.

Chevrolet CN100 will give a neat look with its Chevy’s chrome grille and bow-tie mix perfectly with the two elongated headlights. The CN100 will be a seven-seater MPV with the option of folding third row seats.

It is expected that Chevrolet will launch the new MPV at a low cost in order to enhance their success in the Indian market.

Chevrolet unveils Tavera Neo3

Chevrolet reveals the upgraded Tavera christened the Tavera Neo3 at the Auto Expo.The upgraded features of the car include a new front bumper design, reprofiled headlights and a larger front grille.The interiors are also refreshed with a beige and dark grey colour theme within the cabin.

The new Tavera is powered by a BS 4 compliant Sonalika-sourced 2-litre common-rail direct injection diesel engine.The top-end variants of Tavera will now get contrasting paint for the bumpers and side cladding.The price and the other details are not yet revealed.

Yamaha unveils Prototype Scooter at the Auto Expo

Yamaha’s first Indian scooter which will be launched in mid-2012 has been unveiled today.The scooter is now named as Ray which could be changed at the time of launch.Ray features an edgy,stylish and a compact look.Yamaha made a series of announcements including its plans to invest Rs. 800 crores in 2012-13 on capacity expansion, new product development and network expansion. Bollywood hunk and India Yamaha Motor’s Brand Ambassador, John Abraham was also there to grace the event.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., said, “Yamaha has always been a committed player in the two-wheeler market and makes consistent efforts to adapt to market demand by launching exciting products year-on-year. The Indian scooter segment is growing tremendously and we see a lot of potential in this segment. We have developed a scooter prototype that has got the Yamaha DNA and signifies “Cool and Beauty” image, which are the right words for describing young Indian girls. With the launch of our scooter model later this year, Yamaha would now be present across all growing 2-Wheeler segments.”

Honda launches CBR150R,Dio 110cc and Dream Yuga 110cc

Honda today launches three new models at the Auto Expo which include the 150cc CBR10R,the 110cc Dio and the 110cc Dream Yuga motorcycle.The 2012 Honda Dio uses the same 110cc engine of Activa and Aviator which is now more peppier.

The CBR150R looks almost similar to the CBR250R but is smaller than that of CBR250R.It is powered by the same liquid cooled engine of CBR250R but with a smaller engine displacement of 149cc.The maximum power and torque output of the engine will be 19bhp and 17Nm respectively.A six-speed manual gearbox is also present which helps in transmitting power and torque to the rear wheel.It is expected to be priced below Rs.1.25 lakhs.

The 110cc Dream Yuga commuter motorcycle of Honda is the another new launch powered by a 110cc engine and comes in three variants.Other details are not yet revealed.
