Nissan to export Sunny from March

Nissan is in a plan to export its Sunny sedan from March. Regarding this, Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director and CEO of Nissan Motor India said that they will be exporting Sunny by March-end. Already they were exporting Micra to many countries. Initially, Sunny will be exported to Middle East market.

He also said on their future plans,the company would be increasing its capacity of the Chennai plant owing to increase in production. He assured that initially the plant’s annual capacity is two lakh units and they will increase it to four lakh units by March.

Nissan has invested Rs. 2,800 Crores at the Chennai facility which would be sufficient for the plant expansion. At present, Micra and Sunny are being manufactured at the Chennai plant at Orgadam.

Maruti Spiced-Up A-star – Price list

The upgraded version of Maruti A-star in a “Spiced-Up” form has been launched.The sales of the Spiced-Up A-star starts from today onwards. The refreshed A-star gets major changes in its interiors which are now beige in colour and holds 50:50 rear split seats along with beige-coloured seat fabric.

Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager, Marketing commented that A-star is one of the most vibrant brands in their portfolio. The smart modifications in the spiced-up A-star are in line with customer feedback and seek to enhance the overall look, feel and comfort of the buyers.

The upgraded A-star also gets the same 998cc K10B petrol engine which delivers a maximum power of 67PS @ 6200 rpm and a torque of 90Nm @ 3500 rpm.The exterior of the car now features a roof mounted spoiler. Maruti has offered a more curved front seat backs to the A-star inorder to increase the legroom at the rear.

The Ex-showroom prices of the variants of Spiced-Up A-star are as follows:

i) A-star LXi – Rs.3.66 lakhs

ii) A-star VXi – Rs.3.97 lakhs

iii) A-star VXi AT– Rs.4.47 lakhs

iii) A-star ZXi – Rs.4.22 lakhs

iii) A-star ZXi with ABS and Airbags – Rs.4.40 lakhs

Volkswagen unveils five-door Up

The five-door Up revealed by Volkswagen is soon expected to be launched in India at an affordable price tag. It will feature a 1-litre three-cylinder engine capable of churning out 60hp of maximum power. The car comes with new advanced features along with an optional feature of City Emergency Braking System. The major difference noted here when compared to the three-door Up is the rear-doors which now seems to be more practical.

Ashok Leyland to launch Stile MPV in India

Ashok Leyland will soon launch its new MPV Stile in India at a price in the range of Mahindra Xylo. It features an all-new nose and a new low cost interior but lacks ABS and airbags. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine delivering 130bhp of maximum power. Stay tuned to get more details of Stile.

TVS launches 2012 Star City

TVS Motors has launched the 2012 edition of its famous 110cc bike, Star City at a starting price of Rs.38,650 (Ex-Delhi). The upgraded Star City now looks more stylish holding executive segment features like an all-new stylish headlamp and the dual tone body colours. The bike also gets clear indicators and also will be available in six new colour combinations. The new dual tone graphics of the bike includes Gold Spark, Red Blaze, Bold Blue, Electric Green, Crimson Flash and Silver Strike.

The engine of this new bike uses the company’s CVTi technology for offering superior pickup and also to enhance the performance of the bike. The powerful engine of the new Star City will offer an impressive ARAI mileage of 83.9kmpl. The other styling factors of the bike include an all black alloy wheels and a comprehensive backlit speedometer. The bike also gets an econometer for ensuring optimal mileage and high performance shock absorbers which offers high quality ride handling and easy maneuverability.

KTM to launch Duke 350 in 2013

Following the announcement of shocking pricing for Duke 200 (Rs1.17lakh), Mr. Stefan Pierer, KTM said that Bajaj-KTM will launch the Duke 350 in 2013. Also few more vital points from the press conference

* KTM bikes will be sold through 30 exclusive KTM stores in India (rebranded Bajaj pro-biking)

* Sales and service network is exclusive for KTM bikes

* Bookings of Duke 200 will start from February 01

* Duke 200 attractive pricing of Rs1.17 lakh is just introductory which means price will be hiked shortly (rush to the stores)

* Bajaj also displayed KTM power wear in 2012

KTM Duke 200 Price in India

The much expected KTM duke is finally here. The all advanced 200cc bike is set to storm the market. Bajaj – KTM is currently launching the bike. Powered by a liquid cooled, fuel injected engine and producing 25bhp of peak power at 10000rpm and 19.8Nm of peak torque at 8000rpm. Mated with a six-speed gearbox and duke 200 top speed is around 135kmph. Duke 200 rides on 110/70 tyre at the front and 150/60 at the rear. 280mm disc brake at the front and 230mm disc at the rear duke sets a new standard in terms of handling in Indian biking segment. The monoshock suspension at the rear and inverted telescopic suspension at the front complements the brake for incredible handling. With significant amount of localisation, Bajaj-KTM managed to price tag of KTM duke 200 as lowest as possible.

The price of KTM Duke 200 is Rs1,17,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Chevrolet to launch new “Enjoy” MPV in August

It is already known that Chevrolet will soon launch its new MPV in India which has been unveiled at the recently held Delhi Auto Expo. Now, it seems that “Enjoy” will be the name of the new MPV. It will be launched at a starting price of Rs.6 lakhs. It will go on sales from mid-2012. Enjoy can accommodate seven to eight members. It will first come with a 1.4-litre petrol engine delivering 94.6bhp and the 1.3-litre Fiat’s Muliti-jet diesel engine version will be available from next year. It is likely to compete with Innova and Xylo. Anyhow,the styling of the new MPV will not be much satisfactory.
