Yet another exciting announcement from Bajaj auto today. Bajaj will launch a faired version of pulsar 200NS. We all Indians love fairing a lot. Numerous bike modification centers across India tells us Indians love for fairing. Yamaha launched the FZ150 faired version months after the naked series launch. Bajaj will follow the footsteps of Yamaha. Months after the launch of Pulsar 200NS, we will see a pulsar 200NS with fairing.

Also Bajaj has announced it will not phase out the current generation pulsar for now. Bajaj currently sells pulsar 135cc, Pulsar 150cc,Pulsar 180cc and pulsar 220cc.An year back Bajaj stopped pulsar 200 which will be now occupied pulsar 200NS.

Bajaj today unveiled the specs of all new Pulsar 200NS. You have seen the pictures too. What about the price of Pulsar 200NS? Bajaj says the price of 200NS will be under 1 lakh and it will be affordable. Bajaj recently shocked everyone with its unexpected pricing of KTM duke 200 – Rs1,17,000. Comparing to the duke 200, Pulsar 200NS is technologically lower and hence it should be more affordable. We will come to know the pricing of Pulsar 200NS by the end of March when the Bajaj officially launches Pulsar 200NS. You can buy the pulsar 200NS only by the APRIL 2012 provided the waiting period is lesser. Bajaj plans to produce 1lakh pulsar 200NS every month from its plants.

2012 Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS specifications

Here are the much expected the 2012 Bajaj pulsar specifications. Bajaj calls the next generation pulsar as 200 NS and it raises above twin spark to get 3 sparks. 2012 Bajaj pulsar 200 NS featuring SOHC liquid cooled engine delivers a maximum power of 23.bhp at 9500rpm and a peak torque of 18.3Nm at 8000rpm.  The 199.5cc engine of Bajaj pulsar 200NS breathes through UCD 33 carburetor. Underbelly exhaust and six speed transmission are other specialties of the pulsar 200NS mill

The dimensions of 2012 Bajaj pulsar are 2017mm longer, 1195mm taller and 804 mm wider. 2012 Bajaj pulsar 200 NS comes with a wheelbase of 1363mm and ground clearance of 167mm. The split grab rail and twin angular led strips at the rear are notable lifts from 135cc. But unlike most thought, next gen pulsar is not a ditto of KTM duke 200cc. 2012 pulsar is different though it shares most technology with KTM duke 200. That’s welcome isn’t it?

Volkswagen to launch Passat Petrol in India

Volkswagen plans to introduce the petrol variant of Passat in India and it seems that it could be launched next month. Passat Petrol will be powered by a 1.8-litre TSi turbo petrol direct injection engine capable of delivering 160bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 250Nm. The 1.8-litre petrol engine of Passat will have a very good fuel efficiency.

After the launch, the petrol variant of Passat will be positioned as its entry level variant. It is expected that Passat Petrol would be around Rs.1-2 lakhs lesser than the base variant of Passat Diesel. The Passat Petrol will mainly compete with the petrol variants of Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Skoda Superb and Hyundai Sonata. Expect Jetta Petrol from Volkswagen after the launch of Passat Petrol.

Hero Motocorp to rename CBZ Xtreme, CD Dawn/Deluxe and Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi

Hero Motocorp has renamed its famous bike models CBZ Xtreme, CD Dawn-Deluxe and Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi. This is because that all the three CB,CD and PGM-Fi are the brand names of Honda and hence Hero drops the names of Honda from its bikes. Also the agreement between the two manufacturers is to come to an end by 2014.

Hence, hereafter Hero CBZ Xtreme will be just Hero Xtreme, Hero CD Dawn-Deluxe will be Hero HF Dawn-Deluxe and Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi will be Karizma ZMR Fi. The slight difference in the names of the bikes is for the convenience of the customers to easily identify the bikes. Kindly note that,

Hero HF Dawn-Deluxe and not CD Dawn-Deluxe

Hero Karizma ZMR Fi and not Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi

KTM to launch new sports bike in 2014

We had already informed that KTM will launch the Duke 350 in India in 2013. Now it is confirmed that KTM will also introduce its Moto3-inspired 350cc sports bike in 2014 in our country.

The other expected upcoming launches of KTM are as follows:

i) Super Duke R 1290 – 2013

ii) Adventure R 1090 – 2013

iii) Adventure 1290 – 2014

The Super Duke and the Adventure R bikes will be having an engine displacement of more than 1200cc whereas the Adventure 1290 bike will have 1300cc engine displacement.

Chevrolet to launch Trailblazer SUV in India

Chevrolet’s all-new SUV, the Trailblazer is to hit the Indian roads soon. This new spacious SUV will be available in two diesel engine options. One will be a larger 2.8-litre common-rail diesel engine delivering 180bhp of maximum power and the other will be a 2.5-litre diesel engine offering 150bhp of power output.

The spacious interior of Trailblazer can accommodate seven members and the company proudly says that Trailblazer will be the most clean-sheet truck it has designed in its 100-year history. The SUV is likely to compete with Toyota Fortuner & Ford Endeavour and is expected at a price of around Rs.17 lakhs. Other details of the car are not yet revealed.
