Bajaj plans to launch bigger Pulsar in India

Bajaj plans to launch a more powerful and bigger Pulsar in India. The company aims for placing its familiar Pulsar in the value-for-money sports bike segment. The 350cc Pulsar will be launched next year by Bajaj. The next-generation Pulsar series which include 200cc, 350cc and above will append with the current range of Pulsars.

Regarding this, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, the company’s Managing Director informed that there will be a 350cc Duke next year, so you can expect something similar with the Pulsar next year. And going forward, in 2014-15 there will be even bigger KTM and even bigger Pulsar.

He also said that they share the same development process with KTM, so we can expect there will be ‘a much bigger Pulsar’ next year, because they think the market is at an inflection point (at the premium end) and they are in a good position to take advantage with these two brands.

Bajaj is in a strong belief that the new motorcycles would help in increasing its market share from 26% to 30-32%. Bajaj is also hardly planning to place its Austrian partner KTM’s motorcycles at the premium end of the market.

The KTM motorcycles in the range of 200cc to 700cc will be a major competitor to Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha in the upcoming years. The price range will be positioned accordingly for bigger Pulsar and KTM with Pulsar at the lower end and KTM at the premium end.
