Around 40,000 gearless scooters are sold every month in the two-wheeler market. Kinetic had sold around 25,000 units of its 4-stroke models last year.TVS Motor Company is already selling over 22,000 units a month of its Scooty Pep Plus and will continue to come up with its variants to enhance its market share. The company has recently launched a Scooty Teenz electric, a variant of the Scooty brand. With the new flyte, Kinetic Sym aims to sell 2,000 units of this model per month to begin with, and gradually touch 8,000 units per month. The second model from this JV is expected to hit the roads in the next 12 months. Kinetic also plans to launch a new model, Euro, from its Italjet platform in the next two months. Kinetic is also exploring options to sell the limited edition of SYM’s GTS 250 as part of the company’s brand-building exercise. However, it will only be made available as a completely knock down (CKD) unit that will be assembled at Kinetic’s manufacturing unit at Pithampura near Indore. This is one of seven models it plans to launch in alliance with Italian two-wheeler maker Italjet. The first model from kinetic-italijet JV is 165cc blaze. Kinetic, which spends an average Rs 20 crore on advertising and marketing, has roped in actor Bipasha Basu as its brand ambassador for one year.
