Hyundai, the South Korean manufacturer plans to launch their Xcent, compact sedan on March 12. The company had already unveiled this compact sedan in the country before the 2014 Auto Expo. It measures 3990 mm in length. It will get the same 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.1 litre diesel engine options. So we can expect the same power and torque output figures. The both engines will be mated to 5 speed manual transmission as a standard. The petrol engine will also offer the four speed automatic gear box option.
This sub four metre sedan will come with lots of exciting features such as rear parking sensors, push button start, an USB port audio system with 1GB inbuilt memory and also the Grand i10’s rear air-con vents. It will get the same wheelbase from the Grand i10 hatchback. It will include the McPherson strut suspension at the front and coupled torsion beam axle suspension at rear.
The top level trims will offer some features additionally like dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control and rear view camera. It will compete with the cars such as Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift Dzire and also the upcoming Tata Zest. We can expect the price of Xcent in the range between Rs.5.25 lakhs to Rs.8.85 lakhs.
