Hero Motocorp unveils two new scooters today.The new models are Zir-new 150cc scooter and Dare, 125cc scooter.
“ZIR” – THE ALL-NEW 150-CC SCOOTER
Having already gained customer-traction with significant volumes coming from its well-established scooter brands – the 100 cc ‘Pleasure’ designed for women users, and the 110 cc masculine ‘Maestro’ – meant for boys, Hero now defines a new segment – the 150cc scooter – with its all new offering – the ZIR.
ZIR range comes in two variants, the flat floor board model and a European style step thru model. These scooters come with a powerful Liquid Cooled, 4-Stroke 2 Valves OHC engine that produces the maximum power of 10.5 kW and torque of 12.7 Nm. Its Forced Dynamic Cooling Air System maintains an apt temperature of the liquid coolant during long high speed rides. The Integrated hydraulic Braking System combined with Hydraulic disc brakes in the front and the rear ensures enhanced control while riding. The large fuel tank capacity of 9 litres ensures a smooth and uninterrupted ride for long distance commuting. The ZIR touches a top speed of over 110 kmph
The overall design makes a distinctly bold style statement with its European-styled step seat, sporty front protection screen, dual projector lamps with day running lights, flower type disc plates, bright LED winkers and tail lamp, integrated pillion handle and a combo of digital – analog console. What adds to the great utility is a socket for mobile phone charging and EFI system will communicate with smart phone for all Engine / Riding information through Ride-Stat app.
Apart from the above mentioned features, the European style step thru variant includes cowl-mounted console and large protection summer screen that characterize its unique style.
DARE – THE AGGRESSIVELY-STYLED 125-CC SCOOTER
The masculine scooter – ‘DARE’- marks Hero MotoCorp’s foray in the fast-growing 125-cc scooter segment. The sturdy DARE comes with a Forced Air Cooled, 4-Stroke Cylinder OHC Engine that delivers maximum power of 6,8 kW and torque of 9,5 Nm
Targeted at men, DARE is loaded with external features that enhance the overall style statement such as dual-tone body colour, sporty textured seat, telescopic forks, dual tone alloy wheels, LED day light, LED tail light, full digital console and body painted brake calliper. This too comes with some standard utility features such as mobile phone charging socket, side stand indicator, pass switch and boot light.
DASH – THE ALL-NEW FLAMBOYANT 110-CC SCOOTER
Hero also showcased the recently unveiled, 110-cc jazzy scooter ‘DASH’ that comes with a Forced Air Cooled, 4-Stroke Cylinder OHC Engine. Amongst the new utility features it includes Fuel Lid opening with Ignition key, a combo analogue digital meter, LED tail light, side stand indicator, Integrated Braking System (IBS), USB mobile charger, service due indicator and boot light. It comes with a unique E – Coded security key.
With this comprehensive product range, Hero expects to further enhance its presence in the scooter segment. The Company’s share in the scooter market has been consistently going up, selling an average of over 60,000 units per month with its two existing scooter brands – the Pleasure and Maestro. Hero is now scaling up its monthly production of scooters to over 75,000 units to meet the increasing market demand.
Hero unveiled a slew of game-changing two-wheelers across-the-spectrum at the Delhi Motor Show 2014. The next-generation range of two-wheelers include the new 620-cc superbike ‘Hastur’; the new 250-cc sports bike ‘HX250R’, the Turbo-Charged Direct Injection Diesel engine Concept Bike ‘RNT’ and India’s first Series Hybrid Scooter ‘LEAP’.
Hero also gave a glimpse of its futuristic thinking with its new motorcycle concepts, ‘SimplEcity’ – the incredibly lightweight electric motorcycle and ‘iON’ – the electric motorcycle driven by Li – Air and Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology. New models showcased at the Auto Expo to be launched soon included the new 150-cc ‘Xtreme Sports’, the new 100-cc ‘Splendor Pro Classic’ and the new ‘Passion Pro TR’.
