Fiat,the Italian automobile major said that it will set-up stand-alone showrooms for its cars in 20 cities in India within one and a half years.It also said that however it will continue its co-manufacturing arrangement with Tata Motors.Fiat and Tata Motors share distribution facilities and co-manufacture products at the Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra under a joint venture agreement between them in the year 2007.
Rajeev Kapoor,Fiat India President and Chief Executive reported that they will set up Fiat’s own showrooms in 20 cities within one-and-a- half years.According to him,the existing dealers in the 20 cities would now sell the Italian auto major’s cars in the new facilities.He said the dealers would be the same.They will now have new showrooms for Fiat cars.
However,the financial details for the new showrooms or further plans to introduce the concept in other cities is unknown.Fiat also plans to set up two Fiat cafes in New Delhi and Pune to promote its brand.
