Here are few numbers to crunch on Mahindra Baja SAE 2014
* 327 student team from across India participated and 125 teams made it Baja SAE main event. Out of 125 teams, 106 teams qualified for track event and little over 60 teams managed to withstand all 4 hours.
* Presentation of proposed ATV —->Selected teams qualify for Baja event–> Static Inspection by judges & Technical evaluation by technical committee —->selected teams qualify for dynamic evaluation –> Endurance test on track day
* 3rd year and final year students appear for written test on day 1 –>selected candidates goes for HR meet on final day
* Cash prize totaling to Rs30 lakhs and 2 tablets up for grab
* Students are awarded to a maximum of 1000 marks under three categories – static, dynamic and endurance
* Static event includes design evaluation (150 marks),cost report (15marks), sales presentation (50 marks) and prototype cost (85 marks)
* Dynamic evaluation which includes (acceleration & speed test), hill climbing, maneuverability and (suspension & traction). Each category carries 75 marks
* Endurance test completes the remaining 400 marks
