Ashok Leyland plans to launch a passenger carrier which is named as Dost Express. The company will launch this mini pick-up truck based vehicle after the launch of its Stile MPV. The vehicle will get 1.5 litre triple cylinder turbo diesel engine which can produce the peak power of 58 Bhp and peak torque of 157.5 Nm.
The Dost express, passenger carrier vehicle has two cabins. The driver and Co passenger occupy the separate cabin while the passengers occupy the seats in the rear cabin. It features a fiber passenger cabin for 12 passengers in a 4 seat layout.
The seats are located opposite to each other seats in order to make complete square layout. The passengers can speak with the driver with the help of opening which is present between the driver and passenger cabins. A single door is located on the left side of the vehicle for entry of passengers.The company also plans to launch a CNG variant of Dost Express shortly.It is expected that the price of Dost Express,passenger carrier vehicle is in the range between Rs 6 lakh to 7 lakh.
