The Indian unit of Sweden’s luxury car maker Volvo Car India on Thursday said it has reduced the price of its flagship XC90 sport-utility vehicle by 7-8.5 per cent (about Rs 4 lakh) to boost sales.
The new rates of the XC90 D5 is Rs 42.5 lakh, while the XC90 32 will be available for Rs 43.5 lakh and the XC90 V8 at Rs 49.5 lakh and this will be in effect from July 9.

To make the total number of dealerships in the country to seven, the company has announced opening of new dealerships at Pune and Chennai.
As the additional duty excise reduction was announced in the Budget on July 6, other car makers including Hindustan Motors, Ford India, Honda Siel Cars India and Hyundai Motor India recently announced price a cut of up to Rs 6,000 on some of their models.
