The history of the American based UM Motorcycle had begun in the year 2000. It was Mr.Octavio Villegas Liano, patriarch of the Villegas family, founded the company in Miami. Since from its debut, it has been manufacturing entry level and quarter-litre affordable bikes that include Sportsbike, cruisers, dual-purpose bike from 100cc to 350cc in its portfolio. It is very specialized in manufacturing low capacity and affordable bikes in the commuter and entry-level sports bike segment. With an intention to make its product reach a large number of masses, the company UM Motorcycles have started targeting the developing markets. Since India has been one among them in receiving a high inflow of international manufacturers who offer international and India-specific products, the company has setup a new R&D centre in Delhi for developing two new engines for India. Further the company has plans to launch sports bike and hotspot scooters for the Indian customers, thus utilizing our country as an export hub, shipping-made-in-India two-wheelers through its global distribution network across the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific region.
