About Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500

Royal Enfield has introduced its 500cc Thunderbird motorcycle at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The Thunderbird 500cc resembles like a sharpened cleaned up version of its predecessor. It features a fuel injected UCE engine coated with black powder. The engine of the bike delivers a maximum power of 27.2 bhp and maximum torque of 41.3 Nm. The fuel tank is designed with the Thunderbird logo in matt black finish. The bike has a very impressive headlamp of about 55W, refined LED tail lamp and turn indicators. The dashboard of the Thunderbird 500cc has been redesigned with a twin pod instrumentation which includes speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge with two digital tripmeters. Along with this, the footpeg-handle geometry has also been revised. It possess a rear disc brake for better safety. The bike holds an oval section swing arm which offers good high speed stability. The Thunderbird has a very good seating arrangement in which the seat can be opened by means of a lock in the side box. The telescopic forks on the front is about 41mm. All these features packed altogether ensures better safety and security to both the vehicle and rider.
