India Kawasaki Motors launched ER-6n bike at an attractive price tag of Rs.4.78 lakhs (Ex-showroom,Delhi).Though it is the naked version of Ninja 650,it is to be noted that ER-6n is the first Kawasaki motorcycle in India which isn't a part of Z or the Ninja family. Despite the features like fuel-tank,tail section,seats,rear view mirrors and wheels are shared from its sibling Ninja 650, ER-6n makes itself distinct with the presence of a funky,new-age bikini clad headlamp.It is intriguing that ER-6n doesn't get the full-fairing concept.Apart from the cosmetic changes,the motorcycle gets a new instrument cluster that gives a modern look.Maximum power of 72bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 64Nm at 7000rpm is driven from the liquid cooled four-stroke parallel twin engine with displacement measuring up to 649cc and gets distributed in a linear fashion to the rear wheels via six-speed gearbox. No tunings have been made to the engine, since mechanical specifications are meant to be the same as that of Ninja 650.Hence,gear ratios remain to be the same. Sadly, ABS is found to be absent in this bike, which can be expected to be offered in future. It uses front telescopic shock absorbers, mated to a side-mounted monoshock at the rear. Twin disc brake at the front and single disc at the rear does its duty in bringing about the bike to a halt even riding at high speeds.
