Honda to launch new Jazz in 2014

Honda India has plans to launch four big vehicles within the next three year. It includes 2014 Jazz, all-new utility vehicles, next generation City and MPV.The MPV and Next generation City will come after the launch of the new Jazz.

Honda Cars India’s senior vice-president, Marketing and Sales, Mr.Janeshwar Sen said “We have plans to launch the new generation Jazz in the country sometime next year”. He told that Honda is studying the market to develop a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle from the Brio platform. “Whether we will introduce it or not is not yet decided, “he also added.

The new Honda Jazz will come with the changes in the exterior as well as the interior side. It gets a wider grille and elongated headlamps. The 2014 Jazz will be available in both Petrol and diesel versions. The engine system of the new Jazz is the company’s newly developed 1.5L Earth Dreams i-DTEC turbo diesel engine.

Mahindra launches Centuro commuter bike

Mahindra has launched its Centuro commuter bike at a competitive price of Rs.45,000..
It is competitively priced. So the first 10,000 Centuro bikes are being offered at an introductory price of Rs 44,000

The engine system of Mahindra Centuro is as same as the Pantero. This Centuro is powered by MCI-5, four-stroke, liquid cooled, 106.7cc single cylinder engine. It can produce maximum power of 8.5 Ps and torque of 8.5 Nm at 7500 rpm and 5500 rpm respectively. It comes mated to a four speed manual gear box. It uses telescopic fork for front suspension and an adjustable shock which is bolted to the tubular steel swingarm for rear suspension.It also comes with equipped drum brakes.

Fiat to launch Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler in India

The Italian car-maker Fiat which has tied up with US based company will launch the Jeep SUV brand in India by the end of this year. It plans to launch Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler, both high-end sports utility vehicles. Fiat has a manufacturing plant in Ranjangaon, Pune. But initially the company will import the Jeep models as Completely Built Units(CBU) from North America.
“We will be ready in launching Jeep brand during the last quarter of this calendar year. We are aggressively working on it,” Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and MD of Fiat Group Automobiles India, told reporters in Chennai.

“We have been focusing on our three-pronged strategy. We are very proud of our products today. The Linea has the best in class petrol engine. As part of our strategy, we will bring the Jeep at appropriate time,” he said inaugurating the company’s second exclusive outlet – Ramkay FIAT. He also said that “Today we are having about 63 active dealerships. We will get there (100 dealerships) before this year end”.

Honda to recall second generation City in India

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), an Indian subsidiary of Japanese car manufacturers told that it will replace the power window switch of second generation Honda City cars.
The company said “HCIL would carry out preventive part replacement of power window switch of 42,672 units of previous second generation Honda City, manufactured in the year 2007 and 2008.It will proactively replace power window switch which may malfunction in case water or any other liquid enters the driver side window”.”Honda Cars India is carrying out the part replacement as part of a global exercise by Honda Motor Company to ensure stringent quality standards for its products,” it added.

It also added that this global recall does not create any impact on the current third generation model cars as well as the Honda Jazz. This third generation car model does not need any kind of replacement.

Hindustan Motors to launch Isuzu vechicles in India

A subsidiary of Japanese automobile firm Isuzu Motors Limited, Isuzu Motors India has signed an agreement with Hindustan Motors Limited (HML) on Friday, for contract manufacturing of Isuzu Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) and pickup trucks in India. According to this agreement, it will assemble vehicles in HM’s factory at Thiruvallur near Chennai. The components will be exported from Thailand. But currently Isuzu Motors India imports its MU7 a SUV and DMAX pickup truck as completely Built Units (CBU) from Thailand.

“The collaboration with Hindustan Motors will support us by carrying out assembly of our products at Thiruvallur which is about 70 kms from Sri City,Andhra Pradesh, where our own local manufacturing facility is planned to come up,” said Takashi Kikuchi, president, Isuzu Motors India. And he added “We can thereby advance the scope of our sales operations and increase the scale of supply volumes without waiting for our local manufacturing facility to be ready.”

Mr. Bose, MD & CEO of Hindustan Motors Stated “Our agreement for contract manufacturing of Isuzu’s globally renowned vehicles is a testimony to the state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at our Thiruvallur plant. The operations will enable HML to optimally utilize its spare capacity at Thiruvallur and make eminent business sense at a time when the Indian economy and the automobile industry, in particular, are passing through testing times. Today’s agreement with Isuzu is a strategic move to keep Hindustan Motors on the growth path.”

Nissan to launch new Micra on 3rd July.

The Nissan will launch the new Micra on July 3rd in Mumbai. Nissan already said that ‘All new Micra coming soon’ in its face book page and its official website, now the launching date is confirmed.

As we mentioned earlier, the new Micra facelift will get a new ‘Pacific Blue’ color.The new Micra will get a new centre console, new trim and new finishing touches on the exterior side. It also gets keyless entry, push start and stop, steering mounted audio control, electrically folding mirrors, alloy wheels, rear parking camera, ABS and Bluetooth connectivity.It will be available with two engine options, a 75bhp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine. Nissan will introduce their X-TRONIC CVT technology on the 1.2-liter petrol. The new Micra is considered as safer than the previous one. It offers ABS and dual air bags, but in the top end model its get an additional two air bags

Polaris to launch Indian and Victory motorcycles in India

Polaris has confirmed that the Indian and Victory Motorcycles will sell from separate showrooms in India. It is the first step of Polaris to bring both their motorcycle brands in India. These bikes will arrive in India as Completely Built Units (CBU). Polaris India is headed by Indian two-wheeler industry veteran Pankaj Dubey who plans as MD to import the new motorcycles through the CBU route. Polaris plans to launch either brands together, or then one after the other.

Indian and Victory motorcycles depend mainly on V-twin configuration engines. Polaris India remains unconfirmed about the further details at this stage, which shall come out closer to their launch date.

Nissan to launch 2013 Evalia

Nissan is planning to refresh its Evalia with some changes. On the exterior side the new Evalia gets some cosmetic changes. The updated Nissan Evalia includes captain seats, sliding middle row windows, new bumpers and lights. The current Evalia suffers from an image problem. So that the Nissan hasn’t been able to sell more than an average of 177 units a month(January–May 2013).

Nissan also plans to solve the biggest complaint from Evalia owners is the fixed middle window, which has been redesigned to slide open in the new model. Nissan will give the Evalia with certain key features.The very basic bench-like middle row will get the ‘captain seats’ with better fabrics and superior cushioning. The rest of the cabin will be arranged with improved plastics, richer materials and extra equipment.
