TATA Motors is readying up for its refreshed version, 2014 TATA Indica Vista facelift. This version gets the new front and rear bumper. It also gets a new set of tail lamps, replacing the current car’s X-Mas tree style units. The number plate moved upwards and on to the rear hatch.

On the front side the car will get a much sharper face that will no longer sport the traditional ‘smiley face’ and will instead come with a more sporty looking headlight and grille setup.

2014 Vista offers both petrol and diesel variants. The 1.2 litre Safire petrol can produce maximum power of 65PS and the popular 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel engine is available can produce the maximum power range from 75PS to 90PS.The 1.4 litre BS3 diesel engine which produces 71PS which could be replaced by the CR4 diesel engine. It will be launched in early 2014.

Mahindra S101 spy pictures

Mahindra, India’s top Utility Vehicle manufacturer is planning a new compact Sports Utility Vehicle to compete with the Ford’s Eco Sport in the Indian market. This new compact SUV codenamed as S101.

The petrol variant gets a 1.2 litre engine and the diesel version could be powered by a new 1.5 litre engine with similar mechanical bits from the Quanto’s power train. The engines are to be mated with 6-speed manual transmission gearboxes. A highly advanced Front Wheel Drive system is expected to be used in this SUV vehicle. It is expected to be rated with maximum power outputs close to 90 bhp in both of its petrol and diesel variants

Mahindra brings some of the infotainment features from the XUV into S101. It includes some usual features such as steering mounted audio controls, side airbags and a trip computer. Higher variants would also have Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system. It also includes standard features like keyless entry, central locking and an air conditioning. This Mahindra S101 is expected to be launched in next year.

KTM to launch Duke 200 and Duke 390 with full fairings

KTM to launch three new variants based on the platform of its Duke model. They are KTM RC390, KTM RC125 and KTM RC200.

Stefan Pierer,KTM President/CEO exposed to international media that they are busy with the development of small capacity fully faired RC series of motorcycles based on the very popular KTM Duke 125, 200 and the 390 platform of bikes. He added that the three proposed motorcycles would look similar to the Moto3 Grand Prix Racing motorcycles.

He also said that these three new motorcycles, though based on the KTM Dukes’ platforms, would look unlike the Duke bikes. The unveiling of the new RC series of bikes would happen at this year’s EICMA Milan Show in November 2013 .The first of these bikes, the KTM RC390, will be launched in January 2014,then the KTM RC125 and KTM RC200 will be launched in April 2014.

Mahindra to launch XUV 500 W4 variant

Mahindra plans to launch its W4, lower variant of XUV 500.Similar to W6, it will be 2WD only. It would have fewer features than the W6. It will get a more basic infotainment system and an air conditional unit without an automatic climate control.

It is expected that Mahindra would remove the automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers, steering mounted audio control and automatic projector headlights. It will have no changes on its exterior side and this model expected to have same engine options.

Mahindra has not yet allowed this new variant for showrooms. Because, it is looking at a target of about 3,000 units a month, and if it can meet this with the existing models like W6 and W8, then the W4 will be kept on hold.

Gujarat Police to ride on Polaris ATVs

Polaris has got its first commercial order from the Gujarat Government for its model RZR S 800 which is a side-by-side, 2-seater, all-terrain vehicle. The Polaris Ranger RZR S 800 is powered by a twin cylinder, 760cc-fuel injected petrol engine which can develop 53PS of power and the engine is mated to an automatic gearbox. The engine is placed behind the passenger seat.
It includes 12 inch travel shocks back and front with an anti-sway bar at the back, Disc brakes on all four wheels,12 inch aluminium wheels,9 inch wide all terrain tyres.

Skoda launches Rapid Leisure limited edition

Skoda Auto India has introduced the limited edition of Rapid christened the Rapid Leisure. It is priced at Rs.9.06 lakhs.It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant has maximum power of 105PS at 5250rpm with maximum torque of 220NM at 153-3800rpm.The diesel variant has maximum power of 105PS at 4400rpm with maximum torque of 250Nm at 1500-2500rpm.

It includes additional special features like rear parking sensors, door sill covers, 15” alloy wheels, Leatherette seat covers and Portable navigation system with rear-view camera. It will be available to customers for a limited period only.

Ashok Leyland to launch Stile in India

Ashok Leyland announced that the Stile will be launched in India on July 16.The Stile looks similar to the Nissan’s Evalia except the logo at the bonnet. On the exterior side it gets a slightly reworked bumper and grille. Seating space and luggage capacity is similar to the Nissan’s Evalia.The rear also resembles the Evalia but the only change is logo. The CNG tank occupies the luggage area at the rear.

The Ashok Leyland Stile will be available with both Diesel and Petrol/CNG engines. The 1.5-litre Renault K9k turbocharged diesel engine can develop the power of 85bhp and torque of 200Nm and it is coupled to a five speed manual transmission. It will be available in multiple variant applications likely a hotel shuttle, ambulance, courier van. The Stile MPV will be launched on July 16.We can expect the Stile to be priced at lower than the Evalia by Rs 50,000 .

Skoda readies 2013 Superb

Skoda plans to launch the facelifted version of its Superb saloon by this year end. The Superb facelift will come with the changes in both interior as well as the exterior side. On the exterior side it gets an all-new grille with the new Skoda logo, head and fog-lamps, re-profiled bumper, front fenders and bonnet. It will also include bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights and on the interior side it includes a new four-spoke steering wheel which is similar to that of 2013 Skoda Octavia, and also a new gear lever. It gets an automatic reverse parking system which is used to get warning of all the obstacles coming while reversing the car.

It will be offered a TSI petrol engine,a 2.0-litre TDI and a 3.6 litre V6 petrol engine. The TSI gets a six-speed DSG auto box. The remaing engine options come with a six-speed DSG. It will be available in different colours likely Rosso Brunello ,Amethyst Royal, Candy White, Magic Black. We can expect the launch of faclifted Superb at the end of this year.

Mahindra to launch cheaper XUV500

Mahindra & Mahindra to launch its new XUV500 at cheaper price.”The price of the XUV500 will go down by between Rs 27,000 and Rs 33,000 as we produce the vehicle with the new specifications,” Pawan Goenka, president of Mahindra & Mahindra, told TOI.

This XUV500 model comes with 2.2 liter mHawk direct injection diesel engine which can produce maximum power of 140 Bhp at 3750 rpm and maximum torque of 330Nm at 1600-2800 rpm. It comes with seven different colors likely Satin White, Volcano Black, Amazon Green, Moon dust Silver, Tuscan Red, Opulent Purple and Dolphin Grey.It includes safety features like six air bags, ABS, ESP.

It gets Camping light at the rear hatch, door ajar and puddle lamps, rear wash, wipe and defogger, keyless entry, digital immobilizer, key forgotten reminder, goggle holder and conversation mirror, entry assist lamps and headlamps turn on/off control using remote key. It gets convenient features likely multifunctional adjustable steering, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, voice control and Driver Information System (DIS).It also get advanced Micro Hybrid technology which provides fuel efficiency. Nissan to launch Terrano SUV in India

A few days before,Nissan India exposed a sketch of its Terrano, which is based on the Renault Duster. Nissan had already revealed a sketch of its front. Now comes the rear. This compact SUV will be one of the important cars for Nissan in the Indian market

It will come with both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant can develop the maximum power of 104PS and the diesel variant can produce the maximum power of 85PS and 110Ps which is the same as in Duster. The cost of the Terrano would be higher than the Renault Duster. We can expect the launch of Terrano in the upcoming months.
