Piaggio to launch Vespa Sport

Piaggio plans to launch its new variant, Vespa Sport in India. Currently it offers LX and VX variants.Vespa Sport gets the 125cc, single-cylinder,3-valve, air-cooled engine which is already employed in both variants and the engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission. It can develop the maximum power of 10.06 BHP and maximum torque of 10.06 Nm.

It will use a monocoque steel body construction with single-side hydraulic front shock absorber and rear monoshock suspension. It will get a new square head light and re-designed instrument cluster. It’s the major change of this variant.

It will be available in color options like white and black in India. The launch of Vespa Sport is expected during the festive season of this year in our country.

Ashok Leyland launches Stile in India

As we reported earlier, Ashok Leyland launched its Multipurpose –Vehicle (MPV) Stile in India on July 16.The Stile looks similar to Nissan’s Evalia except the logo at the bonnet. On the exterior side it gets a slightly reworked bumper and grille. Seating space and luggage capacity is similar to Nissan’s Evalia. The rear also resembles the Evalia but the only change is logo. The CNG tank occupies the luggage area at the rear.

Stile is available with both Diesel and Petrol/CNG engines. The 1.5-litre Renault K9k turbocharged diesel engine can develop the power of 85bhp and torque of 200Nm and it is coupled to a five speed manual transmission. It is available in multiple variant applications likely a hotel shuttle, ambulance, courier van.

Ashok Leyland Chairman, Dheeraj G Hinduja said,”With Stile, Ashok Leyland is entering into a new vehicle segment, and our confidence with Stile stems from our confidence in the strength of our combined teams in Nissan and Ashok Leyland”.

He told PTI, “Also, we will have a third product named ‘Partner’ in the 4-6 tonne category. These will complete our range of commercial vehicles from the light to heavy and medium segments. As of now, our focus is on the commercial vehicles and we want to be among the top global players in the commercial vehicles segment”.

He also added, “We are extremely happy with the way our association with Nissan has grown from strength to strength. Our shared vision and philosophies have found expression in both the products that we have engineered thus far – Dost and Stile”.

Datsun unveils ‘GO’ in India

Datsun unveiled its ‘go’ in India. Datsun ‘go’ will be launched by 2014 and will be price below Rs4,00,000.  Datsun ‘go’ will be marketed as go any where car. “This is a historic day for Nissan Motor Company and for our customers and partners in some of the world’s fastest-growing markets. It’s also an exciting moment for many women and men here in India who – today – come one step closer to realizing the dream of purchasing a car,” said Carlos Ghosn, Nissan Motor President and CEO.

Datsun go comes with a generous interior space which comes with 2450mm of  wheelbase. Datsun will be powered 1.2 petrol engine which is the same engine powering the micra. But the expect the engine to churn out lesser power for the sake of better fuel efficiency. Its mated with a 5-speed transmission.

Bajaj – KTM RC 390 pictures

KTM RC 390 especially developed for the new “ADAC Junior Cup”,will be introduced at the 2013 MotoGP of Germany at the Sachsenring.

Chevy Beat get new seats

General Motors India, revises the interior side of its Chevrolet Beat. It gets height adjustable driver seat which will be very comfortable to drive when compared to the existing one.

Mechanically,it does not have any changes.The 1.2-litre petrol Variant of Chevrolet Beat is powered by a 4-cylinder, DOHC engine which can generate 80 PS of power and 108 Nm of torque. The 1.0-litre, diesel mill is a 3-cylinder engine with a power output of 59 PS and 150 Nm of toque.

Piaggio to launch Vespa 946 in India

Italian automotive company Piaggio plans to launch Vespa 946 model in the Indian market by the end of this year. It has a very attractive floating seat. It is available with two engines. The 125cc, 3-valve motor can produce 11.7 HP and torque of 10.3 Nm. The 150cc engine develops 13 HP and 12.6 Nm.

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (India), chairman and MD, Ravi Chopra said during the launch of Vespa VX in Hyderabad,”Lots of Indians have shown interest in Vespa 946. Once the homologation process is over, which will take around three-to-four months, we will be launching the model in the Indian market”.

He added “We want to bring a range of products under the Vespa brand to India. With the launch of Vespa LX last year, we have created a new premium segment for scooters in the country and have been able to sell around 50,000 units”.

Ford recalls Ecosport in india

Ford recalls diesel variant of EcoSport in order to relocate the glow plug module in the car. This glow plug module is an external component fitted only in diesel engines to warm the engine’s combustion chamber. It is used to burn the fuel efficiently. This module was located near the front bumper of EcoSport and now Ford decides to relocate it in a more protected area within the engine.

Ford India said “As part of routine checks, we discovered a potential concern with EcoSport diesel variants related to the Glow Plug Module which requires relocating the module. We are contacting customers to take their vehicle to their Ford dealership to have the work carried out”

Bajaj launches Discover 125T

The third largest motorbike manufacturer, Bajaj Auto launches Discover 125T. It gets same 125cc,4-valve,twin-spark engine which is employed on Discover 125ST.It can produce the maximum power of 12.5PS at 9000 RPM and maximum torque of 10.8 Nm at 6500 RPM. The major difference between the Discover 125ST and Discover 125T is the replacement of the mono-shock suspension with traditional gas filled twin shockers at the rear.

Discover 125 T is available in four colors .It The disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 54,022, and the drum brake Rs. 57,070.It includes new sporty 5-speed transmission, gas-charged Nitrox suspension, petal disc brake, flicker-free DC headlamp and electric start.It can give a top speed of 105 kmph.
