As we reported earlier, Nissan has unveiled its new Terrano SUV,yesterday. The Duster based Terrano SUV receive changes to its exterior. It gets some metal sheet changes and a split rear light arrangement in its rear. It also gets revised bumper, new headlamps and a big Nissan badge. It will come with 16” alloy wheel different roof rails and blacked out B Pillars.

It gets same 1.6 litre petrol engine and 1.5-litre k9k diesel engine options as in Duster. The 1.6 litre petrol engine can produce maximum power of 101 PS and torque of 145 Nm.The 1.5 liter k9k diesel engine can offer two states of tune. It can develop maximum power of 85 PS and a torque of 200 Nm and also 110 PS of power 248 Nm of torque. It will be offered six color options likely Fire Red, Sterling Grey, Blade Silver, Sapphire Black, Pearl White and Bronze Grey exterior. It will be priced below Rs 10 lakh.

Nissan India, president, Kenichiro Yomura said, “The Terrano marks our entry into the compact SUV segment, which is one of the fastest growing segments in the Indian market today. It follows the same design language as our Pathfinder and patrol SUVs and makes a strong statement, which is a key differentiator in this segment. We are confident that the Terrano SUV will appeal both to existing real SUV lovers and consumers looking to graduate to SUVs.”

The German car maker, Volkswagen plans to launch the CrossPolo by 21th August. It has already completed testing at ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) centre in Pune and it receives the approval certificate.

The CrossPolo will come with silver anodised roof rails,plastic body cladding, new front and rear bumpers, a silver diffuser at the rear and 16-inch alloy wheels. The dimension of the CrossPolo is increased than the Polo and it’s also 10 kg heavier than the normal Polo.

It gets 1.2 liter diesel engine which is already employed on the Polo. It will come with only one variant. The company also plans to bring another one variant by late 2014.We can expect the price of CrossPolo is Rs 70,000-80,000 more than the Polo.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Senior Executive told that it has no new models for next two years. It will concentrate on upgrades,new fuel options in order to increase the sales.
Mahindra & Mahindra , president said Pawan Goenka, “We were ahead of the industry and we did all our major launches in last two years. This year we don’t have any new product launches, we do have variants for launch. Absolute new products will be launched only in FY2016”

He added,“We are working on the electric Verito, we had said that we will be ready to launch the electric Verito by the first quarter of FY2015. We have been disappointed with the sales of the E2o. We are hoping for some announcement on the subsidy (from the government) very soon. If E2o sales take off then we will launch the electric Verito as planned”

Over the last two years the company had been rolled out its new models like XUV500, Quanto, E2o, Verito, Verito Vibe and the Ssangyong Rexton.But it has no new models to roll out for next two years.Maruti Suzuki,Nissan,Honda are planning to roll out new models in the SUV segment. But M&M has Scorpio SUV only.

Ford has unveiled the pictures of Everest concept, a new seven-seater SUV. The Everest concept or new Endeavour concept is designed and developed by Ford in Australia
It gets features like muscular wheel arches, angular headlamps, EcoSport-like grille and connected foglight enclosures.This concept is totally different from the current Endeavour.It will get the engine options like 2.2 litre and 3.0 litre turbo diesel engine.

Mark Fields , Ford’s COO said,“This is our vision for a large, seven-seat off-road SUV to allow our customers to take on the world and it was created by our world-class design team here in Australia.”

It gets prominent chrome trapezoidal chrome grill which is also present in Ford EcoSport. This concept will enter into production by 2014.In India the 2015 Ford Endeavour will compete with Toyota Fortuner and other Vehicles in the series

Fiat plans to launch new facelift Linea in India soon. Now it has started testing on this new updated Linea with 1.6-litre Multijet diesel engine
Fiat Linea facelift gets changes in exterior as well as interior. It will come with a new front grille, new fog lamp clusters, and reprofiled bumper. On the interior side it gets new AC vents, new integrated audio system, new instrument cluster and a new steering wheel. It gets same gear lever, climate control knobs and the door pads as in current Linea.

It will come with 1.6 litre Multijet diesel engine which can develop maximum power of 105 Bhp and maximum torque of 290 Nm.The 1.6-litre Multijet 2 diesel engine also develops the same power but the maximum torque is 320 Nm.We can expect the launch of this car in the country soon. Fiat also plans to increase its dealerships across the country to 120 by late 2014.

Mahindra conducted tests on its 110cc cut price variant of Pantero motorcycle at Research and Development facility at Chinchwad.
The major difference between the Pantero and this stripped down vehicle is head lamp. It gets same single-cylinder air-cooled Microchip ignited 5-curve engine which is already employed in the current Pantero. It can develop maximum power of 8.5 Bhp at 8500 RPM and maximum torque of 8.5 NM at 5500 RPM. This engine is mated to 4-speed manual gearbox.

We can expected that this bike should be priced lower than the Pantero which will be compete with TVS Star City as well as Hero HF Dawn

TATA Motors will enter into the Indonesian market by next month. It will display the brand in the upcoming Indonesian International Motor Show in Jakarta. Tata Says that it plans to launch seven to nine models which includes the compact cars and commercial vehicles in the country by later 2014.

The company also plans to open six dealerships across the country by the end of this year and to enhance the number to 15 by 2014 and to 60 by upcoming years. It aims to build an assembly plant in Java. The prices of these upcoming models have not been revealed yet. We can expect the cheaper price for these models

Latin NACP conducted crash tests on the Alto K10 model in its German lab. It got zero stars out of five for overall safety. From this test it was found out that the car got severe damage in its car’s A-Pillar, front door, B-Pillar, roof and the floor pan.

Latin NCAP said in a statement, “The Suzuki Alto K10 received a zero-star adult occupant safety rating because of its unstable vehicle structure and the high forces placed on the dummies which pose an unacceptably high risk of death or injury. Although the vehicle achieved a three-star rating for child occupant safety, this was achieved mainly because the front row of seats absorbed so much of the crash energy”

Maruti Suzuki India plans to roll out a new brand model to take on Hyundai’s Grand i10.MSI said, “The new compact model from Maruti will be positioned between the Wagon R and the Swift. It will make its debut at the Auto Expo next year”.

Currently the Wagon R is priced between Rs.3.57 lakh and Rs.4.48 lakh and the Swift is available in the range between Rs.4.48 lakh and Rs.6.87 lakh .A Spokesperson, MSI said “We do not comment on our future product line-up.”

This new model of MSI will be unveiled at India’s Auto Expo which will be held between February 6 and 12, 2014 at Greater Noida.We can expect the launch of this Vehicle by early 2014
