Ashok Leyland plans to launch a passenger carrier which is named as Dost Express. The company will launch this mini pick-up truck based vehicle after the launch of its Stile MPV. The vehicle will get 1.5 litre triple cylinder turbo diesel engine which can produce the peak power of 58 Bhp and peak torque of 157.5 Nm.

The Dost express, passenger carrier vehicle has two cabins. The driver and Co passenger occupy the separate cabin while the passengers occupy the seats in the rear cabin. It features a fiber passenger cabin for 12 passengers in a 4 seat layout.

The seats are located opposite to each other seats in order to make complete square layout. The passengers can speak with the driver with the help of opening which is present between the driver and passenger cabins. A single door is located on the left side of the vehicle for entry of passengers.The company also plans to launch a CNG variant of Dost Express shortly.It is expected that the price of Dost Express,passenger carrier vehicle is in the range between Rs 6 lakh to 7 lakh.

Skoda has launched its new Octavia with three engine options. The third generation Octavia is much larger than the second generation model which is also known as Laura. Active, Ambition and Elegance are the three trims available with 2013 Skoda Octavia. It offers seven shades like white, black, beige, silver, grey, blue and red.

The three engine options are 1.4 liter and 1.8 liter TSI turbo petrol engine and a 2 liter TDI turbo diesel engine. The 1.4 liter TSI petrol engine can develop 138 Bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of peak torque. This 1.4 liter TSI engine is mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. This engine system is available in Active and Ambition trim levels.

The 1.8 liter TSI engine can produce the maximum power output of 178 Bhp and maximum torque output of 250 Nm and is coupled to a 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox. The 1.8 liter TSI engine is available only in Elegance trim.

The 2 liter TDI turbo diesel motor can produce the maximum power of 141 Bhp and maximum torque of 320 Nm, and can be mated with 6 speed manual and DSG automatic gearboxes. The manual gearbox equipped 2 litre Diesel motor is available in Active and Ambition trims. The 2 litre TDI diesel with DSG automatic gear box only available with Ambition and Elegance trims.

It gets features like bi-xenon headlamps, panoramic sun roof, power assisted seats with memory function. It also offers safety features like 6 airbags, Anti-lock Braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Electronic Stability Control (ESP).

Tata plans to launch the CNG version of Nano in October during Navratras. The CNG version of Nano has been named as ‘emax’. The company said, “The product was unveiled in June 2013 and is scheduled to be in the market by October 2013. There have not been any changes to our plans as we gear up for the market launch.”

The Nano CNG will get 623cc twin cylinder petrol engine which can be tuned to run on both CNG and petrol. So this version gets both CNG and petrol tank. The petrol tank will be helpful to the users to drive the car for longer distances. The driver can switch the car between CNG mode and petrol mode by a Switch which is present on the dashboard.

The capacity of CNG tank is 32 liter. This CNG variant offers an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 36km/kg. The Co2 emission of this variant is 75g/km only. The Nano emax CNG gets 4 year/60,00km warranty. In petrol mode the engine can develop maximum power of 37.5bhp.In CNG mode it can generate maximum power of 32 bhp at 5500rpm and maximum torque of 45 Nm at 3500 rpm. The engine system is mated to five speed manual transmission. It is expected that the price of this car is Rs 30,000 more than the petrol model.

Honda has launched a limited edition variant of its Brio hatchback at a price of Rs 4.92 lakh. The entry of this “Exclusive Edition” is to celebrate the second anniversary of the car’s launch in India and also to increase the sales during the festive season.

The Brio Exclusive Edition gets the 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine which can generate maximum power output of 88 PS of and peak torque of 109 Nm. The engine system is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
The Brio “Exclusice Editon” hatchback offers the features like roof spoiler, Exclusive Emblem, Illuminated sill plate, Door visors, Chromed exhaust tip,black interior theme, new upholstery and Reverse parking sensors. It offers three colours like Tafeta White, Alabaster Silver and Rally Red.

Suzuki has exposed the Wagon R 3 rows MPV concept in the 2013 Indonesia International motor show (IIMS).The MPV will be positioned between the Wagon R and Ertiga. It is expected that the seven seater MPV will be launched in India by late 2014 or early 2015.

The Suzuki Wagon R 3 rows MPV concept is a seven seater variant which shares most of the parts with its hatchback sibling. It will share the platform, interior parts as well as the exterior styling.The Suzuki has been developing turbo diesel engines with capacity in the range between 0.8 litre and 1.4 litre. So it is expected that the Wagon R 3 rows MPV will be powered by the same triple cylinder 1.0 litre petrol engine which powers the hatchback sibling. The 1.0 litre engine can produce the maximum power of 67 PS.

Mr.Tuilan, Marketing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, said “It’s still a concept and no decision has been made”. However, it has been confirmed that if this Wagon R goes into production, it would be a contender for the Indonesian LCGC (Low Cost Green Car) project, thereby availing some tax benefits.”

The World’s largest two wheeler maker, Hero has been working for its research and development. It has developed three new technologies. Start -Stop system, Combined Braking System(CBS),Engine immobilizer System are the three technologies will be used by the motorcycles of Hero.

The Start-Stop function can work only in neutral in geared two wheelers and this technology improves the fuel efficiency of vehicles. This system switches the engine in off state automatically at traffic signals and other brief stops in order to avoid the wasteful fuel consumption.

The Integrated Braking System or Combined Braking System (CBS) is used for Synchronous braking of both wheels. Honda has introduced this CBS technology with the new Activa 110.Hero plans to use this technology on its Pleasure automatic scooter.The engine immobilizer system is used to avoid thefts.The upcoming two wheelers will get Start-Stop System and an engine immobilizer system as a standard.

Hero Motocorp, MD, Mr.Munjal said,” There will be more new products and new platforms and we will showcase them at the Auto Expo next year, along with concept models”.

Hero plans to launch CBZ Xtreme in the upcoming weeks.It also plans to launch 15 new models between the months of October to December of this year in order to improve its sales.

The Hero Xtreme will be powered by a 150cc, single cylinder air cooled engine which is also known as the national 150cc motorcycle engine. The same engine powers seven motorcycles from Hero as well as the Honda. This engine system can produce 14.4 BHP of maximum power and 12.8 Nm of maximum torque. Currently the Apache 160 and Pulsar 150 can able to produce 15 PS of power, which is known as the highest power in the 150cc segment.

Hero Xtreme will come with revised tank, revised instrument console and new 3D logo and new panels at rear. The bike gets the same alloy wheels, front mudguard and disc brakes at both front and rear. The Hero CBZ Xtreme 150 cc will be the first one to get engine immobilizer system.

Hero plans to launch new Karizma ZMR 2013 in the upcoming weeks. The bike has been spotted at many places in Guragon .The new Karizma ZMR 2013 will get the same 223cc engine which is also employed in the current version.

The input from Erik Buell Racing (EBR) will lead to maximum power and torque. It features new headlight, split seats and pair of new split grab-rails. The bike will come with the conventional gas charged twin rear shock absorbers, five spoke alloy wheels and also disc brakes at both front and rear. It will come with the new registration plate which is same as in the R15V2.0

Hero Motocorp, MD, Mr. Munjal has said, “There is a lot of innovation happening in our own R&D and we will bring it to the market through some of the products we will launch. We have applied for patents for those innovations. This is showcasing our capability. We will be launching the new Karizma variants which are redesigned and the engine made more powerful with our partner EBR. This is the first commercial production model in which they have played a big part in development.”

Volkswagen India plans to launch the Vento on October 3 in India. VW India has stopped the Polo 1.6 petrol model earlier in this year and it has recently launched its Polo GT TSI. The Vento GT TSI will get the 105PS 1.2 TSI engine as well as the dual-clutch automatic transmission from the Polo GT TSI. The 1.2 liter petrol engine can develop maximum power of 105 PS and torque of 153 Nm.

The Vento GT TSI will produce the same power as the 1.6 Vento AT. The Vento GT TSI can produce maximum torque output at lower RPM which will lead to reduced fuel consumption and better drivability. It is the main advantage of Vento GT TSI when compared to 1.6 Vento AT.

It is expected that the car would not receive any changes in the both interior and exterior. It will get GT badge as similar to the Polo GT. We can expect the price of Vento GT TSI is Rs 50,000 more than the current Vento 1.6 AT.

Skoda plans to launch the 2013 Octavia in India on the 3rd of October. It has unveiled the 2013 Octavia on 8th August in India. The 2013 Octavia, the third generation model will replace the second generation model which is known as Laura.This car is much bigger than the previous model.It will be available in three variants like Active Ambition and Elegance.

The 2013 Octavia will get three engine options. The 1.8 liter turbo petrol engine can produce maximum power 177 Bhp and maximum torque of 250 Nm and it is mated to 7 speed dual clutch automatic gear box. It also gets 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine which is mated to 6 speed manual gear box. It can deliver maximum power output of 140 bhp and torque of 250 Nm. The 2 liter turbo diesel engine can able to develop the maximum power of 140 Bhp and torque of 320 Nm which will be standard on the 2013 Octavia. This variant offers both automatic and manual gearbox options.

The car gets the Skoda’s new Vision D design philosophy and will come with features like 16-inch alloy wheels, powered mirror adjustment, power windows, ABS, dual front airbags, traction control, driver’s seat height adjust, steering adjust, remote locking and rear air-con vents etc. It is expected that the 2013 Skoda will be priced between Rs 14-18 lakh.
