Toyota to unveil Etios Cross at Auto Expo 2014

The Japanese car maker, Toyota plans to unveil Etios Cross at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014.The Company has undergone testing on Cross Etios already in India. We can expect the launch of this car after the Auto Expo. The car was revealed in November 2013 at Brazil Motor Show.

Etios Cross is likely to get the same engine which is already employed in the Etios Sedan. The 1.5 litre petrol engine can produce maximum power of 90 PS. The 1.4 litre D4D engine can produce 90PS of maximum power.

It gets redesigned grille, new bumper which will give rugged looking to the car. It also get set of 10 spoke alloy wheels, Roof-rails , pair of fog lamps which is integrated into the front bumper. We can expect the price of Etios Cross in the range of Rs 8 lakh to 12 lakh.

Honda launches 2014 City at a starting price of Rs 7.42 lakh

Honda launches its fourth-generation City at Taj Palace, New Delhi on today. It was unveiled on November 2013 in New Delhi already. The new Honda City priced in the range between Rs.7.42 lakh to 11.10 lakh.

The new Honda City now available in diesel engine option also.The variants of new Honda City are available in both diesel and petrol manual versions. But the petrol automatic version only available in SV and VX trims. It gets 1.5 litre diesel engine from Honda Amaze. The engine can deliver an ARAI certified mileage of 26 kpl. The petrol version gets the same 1.5 litre i-vtec engine from the previous City. The diesel engine is mated to six speed manual gearbox while the petrol engine mated to either five speed manual gear box or CVT automatic gearbox

Ashok Leyland to launch Captain truck Series

Ashok Leyland, Commercial-vehicle maker plans to launch its “Captain” series of next generation heavy trucks. The Captain series will include the trucks in the range between 16 tonnes and 49 tonnes. The Captain 2523 Tipper is the first model of this Captain series which includes tippers, tractors and haulage trucks.The trucks will come with three year full vehicle warranty and also four year warranty on the drive line.

It will launch 18 models in this Captain series in 2014.The trucks will be manufactured at its Uttarakhand plant. The price of the trucks are in the range of Rs.22 lakh to Rs.35 lakh.The company plans to export this Captain series to Middle East, Latin America, Africa and South East Asian countries as Completely Built Units(CBU).

He added, “These trucks will be rolled out from our Pantnagar plant. We have developed this range on our own, apart from some help from an Italian firm for cabin design and a UK firm for structural engineering, at an investment of Rs 600-700 crore”.

He also added, “We have a total capacity of 10,000 units per month across our plants but we were doing 2,000-3,000 units in single shift due to the slowdown”.”In the fourth quarter of this fiscal, we are increasing that to 4,000-5,000 units with double shifts in some plants.”

Maruti to introduce Automated Manual Transmission technology in Celerio

Maruti-Suzuki plans to bring automated manual transmission in small cars. Maruti will be the first one in India to introduce this Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).The Automated Manual Transmission(AMT) technology is derived from the famed F1 motorsports arena.

The technology will allow the gears to be used like automatic transmission without using the clutch either sequentially or fully automatically. It will not change the fuel efficiency as well as the price of the car. The technology will give 5% reduction in fuel consumption as well as 5 g/km reduction of CO2 in emission.

The upcoming global hatchback Celerio which is to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014 will get Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).It allows the driver to change the gears directly without engaging the clutch. Senior Executive, Maruti Suzuki said, “It gives the comfort of an automatic transmission and the fuel efficiency of a manual transmission”. He added, “Customers can change gears like any automatic transmission car but the cost of this will be like a regular manual-geared car.”

Yamaha R25 – Production Version images

Young Machine, a Japanese magazine has revealed the production version of Yamaha R25. The Yamaha R25 concept motorcycle was unveiled at 2013 Tokyo motor show. Now the Japanese magazine,Young Machine has released the pictures of Yamaha R25.

Yamaha R25 will get 250cc twin cylinder 4-valve engine mated to 6 speed gearbox. According to the picture, It will include twin headlights and a visor which is set between two headlights. It will also get a full fairing, twin seats and an upswept exhaust.

Yamaha will launch the YZF R25 in India at early 2015.We can expect the price of Yamaha R25 in the range between Rs.2.5 lakh to 2.7 lakh. Yamaha R25 will compete with Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR 300R and KTM Duke 390.

Maruti Suzuki YL7 to be called Celerio

Maruti Suzuki plans to unveil its new global hatchback which is codenamed as YL7 at the upcoming Auto Expo. The YL7 to be called Celerio which is based on the Suzuki A-Wind concept. Currently the company uses this name for A-Star in some international markets. Celerio will replace the discontinued Zen Estilo and A-Star. The Company has unveiled A-Wind concept at the Thailand International Auto Expo 2013.

The wheelbase of the A-Wind concept is 2425mm.The wheelbase of the A-Wind concept is 65mm more than the A-Star’s wheelbase. It is also 100mm longer and 50mm taller than the A-Star. It is taller It will get 16 inch alloy wheels with 185/55 R16 tyres. A-Wind concept gets a twin split chrome grille with integrated funky projector headlights and also LED turn-indicators at the front.

The Celerio will be more spacious than its A-Star. Celerio is likely to get same 1.0 litre k-series engine which is already employed in its current generation cars. It will offer both manual transmission as well as automatic transmission. While the concept was unveiled with CVT automatic gearbox. Diesel variant of Celerio also expected from the company.

Yamaha may launch D’elight on 7th January

The Japanese manufacturer, Yamaha plans to launch new stylish 114cc scooter on 7th January. It may be the beautifully styled new D’elight which is available in some international markets. The new D’elight is an affordable commuter which is classically styled with contemporary design.

D’elight will get a 114cc single cylinder, air cooled, 4 stroke, 2-valves, petrol engine which can develop the maximum power output of 7.2 Ps at 7000 rpm and maximum torque of 7.6 Nm at 5500 rpm. It will come with telescopic fork suspension at the front and Unit Swing rear suspension at the rear.

It will include 180mm hydraulic single disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear. It will also get 12 inch tyres. It weighs 98 Kg only.It provides under seat storage for demi-jet type helmet. It features low seat height, integrated tail light and rear indicators. It will compete with Vespa Vx for its retro contemporary design.

Maruti to unveil YL7 hatchback at Auto Expo.

India’s largest car maker, Maruti-Suzuki plans to unveil a new hatchback at the upcoming 2014 Auto Expo, Delhi. The new hatchback is codenamed as YL7 which is the first international model from Maruti-Suzuki. This YL7 will replace the discontinued Zen Estilo and A-star.

The YL7 will get three-cylinder K10 petrol engine from Suzuki. The engine is coupled with 5 speed manual transmission.4 speed automatic transmission is also available. Suzuki has unveiled the A-wind hatchback concept at the Thailand International Auto Expo 2013.

DSK Hyosung to launch Aquila 250 and GD250N

The Korean manufacturer, DSK Hyosung will bring two new models in India. The first model will be the Aquila 250 Cruiser which is to be launched at the upcoming Auto Expo. The second model is an all new GD 250N naked street bike. The GD250N is expected to be launched at April 2014.we can expect the price of Hyosung GD250N is Rs 1.6lakh.

Hyosung’s Aquila 250 will get a four-stroke, air-cooled, 249cc, V-twin engine with four valves per cylinder. The engine can develop maximum power output of 27bhp. The fuel injected engine is coupled with a five-speed gearbox. It will get 41mm telescopic suspension at the front and coil-spring shocks at the rear. It will include a semi-floating, 275mm single disc brake with a dual-piston caliper up at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

While the GD250N is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 249cc single-cylinder engine with fuel injection. The engine can produce maximum power of 28bhp and coupled to a six-speed gearbox. The GD250N will include a upside-down forks up for front suspension and a monoshock suspension at the rear. It will also include 17-inch wheels, 300mm petal disc at front and a 230mm petal disc at the rear.
