Following the unveil of the new Xcent sedan, Hyundai has today launched the next-generation Santa Fe SUV model at a starting price of Rs.26.3 lakhs. The new Santa Fe looks bigger in both length and width but seems to retain the same wheelbase.

Hyundai offers an upgraded version of the 2.2-litre diesel engine for the new Santa Fe. The engine gets third-generation common-rail technology for better efficiency and lower emissions. The power and the torque output of the engine are 194 bhp at 3,800 rpm and 44.5 kgm at 1,800-2,500 rpm.

The next-generation Santa Fe is available in three different versions viz., 2WD Manual, 2WD Auto and 4WD Auto. The 2WD version features both six-speed manual and automatic gearbox while the 4WD version is available only as an automatic.

(i) Santa Fe 2WD Manual – Rs.26.3 lakhs

(ii) Santa Fe 2WD Auto – Rs.27.33 lakhs

(iii) Santa Fe 4WD Auto – Rs.29.25 lakhs

The American four wheeler manufacturer Ford launched its much awaited sedan known as Fiesta at the ongoing Auto Expo Event. The Ford Fiesta comes with an all-new aggressive appearance along with attractive price offers. The new car would give a tough competition to other cars such as Honda City, Nissan Sunny, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna and some other cars in the segment. The front fascia of the car is well updated with the new family look and it features an Aston Martin front grille with chrome treatments. The car gets a front bumper and fog lamps, revised headlamps and a new bonnet design. The rear profile of the car has also been modified fitted with modern and larger tail lights. The engine specification and other details of the new Ford Fiesta will be updated very shortly.

The Renault KWID concept car unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo.Here some engine specification and features are revealed along with the pictures…

The Kwid is employed by the 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine coupled to a dual-clutch transmission. The new vehicle gets a dual tone elastomer material and rear air conditioning with controls on the driver’s seatback as well. The Kwid concept is based on the technology of “Flying Companion”.

The Renault Kwid measures a length of about 3620 mm and 1940 mm width which is quite good. The interiors of the car has been designed similar to the bird’s nest. The car comes with a charging plug behind the logo of the Renault. Some of the important features includes an electrically operated front bench seat on a central rail, electrically opening doors, LED lighting and command keys next to the steering.

It has a vertically mounted TFT touchscreen display acting as a dashboard
offering easy access to connected services. The exterior of the car is fitted with a protective guards and chunky wings with short overhangs and oversized wheels. All these features altogether makes the Kwid a buggy car.

S-Cross concept is the one out of two new global models from Maruti. The car maker has just unveiled this S-cross concept SUV along with Ciaz concept.

The new concept S-Cross has been developed on the basis of a brand new platform and it is said to provide one of the largest luggage storage areas in its segment. Since Maruti’s SX4 has not reached the maximum success, the new concept S-Cross is believed to change that and it is the latest of mid-size crossover packed with lot of thrilling and exciting features. The S-Cross comes with both petrol and diesel engine in which the oil burner is powered by a turbocharged 1.6 litre unit generating the maximum power of 117 BHP and maximum torque of 320 NM. Similarly, the petrol engine is employed with a 1.6 litre engine producing the power output of 117 BHP and 156 NM of torque output. The engine may be mated to the front wheels or all four wheels through a six speed manual transmission or a CVT ensuring comfortable and convenience ride.

Ciaz, the very new large sedan of Maurti will be available in both Petrol and Diesel engine options. Ciaz Petrol will feature the same 1.4-litre K14 petrol engine which powers the Ertiga while the diesel version of Ciaz will be powered by the Ertiga’s 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine with a variable geometry turbo. Ciaz will be offered in automatic form, with Maruti likely to offer the automated manual like the one on the Celerio hatchback.

Renault has just unveiled its Kwid crossover concept at the ongoing 2014 Auto Expo. Kwid measures 3.6 mm in length. It is powered by 1.2 litre turbo charged engine.The Lamborghini-like scissor doors, a Mini-like pillar-less cabin and tail-lights are the highlights of the car. Kwid, two door concept which was partly designed at Renault’s India studio in Mumbai.The Kwid concept comes with a ‘flying companion’ that you can control with a tablet. The Kwid crossover concept resembles to be the next-generation Duster. It gets the attractive features like Electrically opening door,LED lighting, Steering mounted controls and TST touchscreen display.

Maruti has just unveiled its S-Cross SUV at the Auto Expo. Maruti’s concept car S-Cross is a compact crossover built completely on a new platform and it is roughly going to be size of a Renault Duster. It has been designed by the manufacturer in order to break the SUV segment which would be easily differentiated from the others. Maruti’s S-Cross is well equipped with a maximum 5-star Euro NCAP overall safety rating which is quite good. The concept S-Cross comes with a new 4WD system and it provides four driver selectable driving modes for better performance along with better safety.

Maruti Ciaz sedan previously codenamed YL1 has been unveiled at the ongoing Auto Expo at Greater Noida. Ciaz will replace SX4 sedan in India.The new Ciaz gets a fresh design which looks very contemporary and premium. The car has been designed with high quality materials, spacious cabin loaded with lot of features.The new Ciaz is more spacious than the SX4.The Ciaz is the combination of sportinees and elegance which would strengthen the manufacturer’s A3 Segment. The car gets a dynamic body shape and glamorous design with edgy character lines looks really nice.

The side profile of the car comes with the chrome treatments enhancing the sporty and aerodynamic appearance of the ciaz. The combination of real carbon and chrome plating at the fog lamps as well as the exhaust pipe improves the character of the concept car.
