Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the country’s largest exporter and the second-largest car manufacturer today announced the launch of 3rd Generation Powerful and Dynamic Santa Fe at the 12th Auto Expo.

Speaking at the launch, B S Seo, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL said, “The 3rd Generation Powerful and Dynamic Santa Fe is world-class product and will set new benchmark in India’s SUV segment. The new Santa Fe is one of the finest expressions of Modern Premium with high level of Performance, Power, Styling, Technology and Equipment that demonstrates Hyundai’s capabilities and confirm its commitment of value beyond expectation to customers.”

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The new Santa Fe is powered by 3rd Generation 2.2L CRDi engine equipped with e-VGT turbocharger. The advanced 3rd generation CRDi diesel is Hyundai’s ‘R’ series engine which delivers 197PS@3,800rpm of maximum power and an impressive torque of 42.9kgm@1800-2500 rpm (MT) and 44.5kgm@1800-2500 rpm (AT) with high mileage of 14.74 kmpl (MT-ARAI certified) and 13.01kmpl (AT-ARAI certified). The Electronic Variable Geometry Turbocharger (e-VGT) is efficient and has precise control of exhaust gases for optimal power delivery across all rpms thus improving the engine performance. The CRDi engine operates at a high pressure of 1,800 bar and generates high low end torque resulting in lesser gear shifts in city driving conditions. The linear power delivery and with maximum torque over wide range of rpm’s ensures instant response at any speed . Available in 6 speed – manual and automatic transmission offers higher driving pleasure with enhanced fuel efficiency and refinement with intelligent 4 Wheel Drive System.

The new Santa Fe embodies the ‘Storm Edge design philosophy’ derived from Hyundai’s Fluidic design philosophy which captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm. The leading two wheeler manufacturer Bajaj has unveiled its two new hot bikes at the Auto Expo which includes Pulsar CS400 and Pulsar SS400. The two bikes are cousins of the KTM Duke 390 and the Pulsar CS400 is a naked street fighter where as Pulsar SS 400 is a full faired bike.

These bikes will be powered by a 373.2 cc single cylinder engine which ensures better performance in terms of power, torque and fuel efficiency. The two bikes are fitted with the AntiLock Braking System which is really helpful. Other details will be shared very soon.

Bajaj has unveiled two new models in its Pulsar range.It gets 375cc liquid cooled,4 valve triple spark Fuel Injection(FI) engine with 6 speed gear box.Pulsar CS400 is a naked street fighter while the Pulsar SS400 is a fullfaired motorcycle.

TVS Motors showcased its new concept street fighter bike Draken 250cc at the ongoing Auto Expo. The Draken is powered by a 4 Valve, liquid cooling, DOHC engine with a displacement very close to 249.2 cc. The engine of the bike is mated to a six speed gearbox which produces the maximum power of 38.50 BHP @ 12000 RPM and maximum torque of 23 NM @ 9500 RPM.

The bike is expected to deliver healthy mileage of approximately 33.3 kmpl which is quite impressive. The liquid cooling technology of the bike helps to get rid off the heat and allows the engine to be very cool. The exhaust is kept below the engine and coming out ahead of the front brake lever. The overall weight of the bike is measured as 134 kgs and the fuel tank capacity of the bike is nearly 10-litre. The TVS Draken provides the wheelbase of 1340 mm along with the ground clearance of about 170 mm.

Yamaha, the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer launches Cygnus Alpha scooter at an affordable price of Rs.49,518. The new scooter comes with a four stroke, single cylinder and air cooled engine which produces displacement very close to 113cc. The engine of Cygnus Alpha churns out the peak power of 7 BHP @ 7500 RPM along with the peak torque of 0.82 KGM @ 5000 RPM. The vehicle is easy to handle with the telescopic front suspension and a monoshock rear suspension which is quite good. The Yamaha Cygnus Alpha will be available in five stunning color shades namely Black, Grey, White, Red and Magenta.
