Skoda has launched its Superb facelift at a price of Rs.18.87 lakh. The new Superb facelift gets the same engine options.The 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine can produce maximum power output of 158 bhp and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine can develop 138 bhp of peak power.It offers three metallic paint shades such as Metal grey, Magnetic Brown and Brilliant Silver.The design of wheels has also been refreshed.

The front end has been completely redesigned up to the A-pillars. The radiator grille, vehicle logo, front headlights and fog lights, bumper, front fender, and bonnet are new. The new Skoda logo is now placed prominently in the centre of the bonnet, which is slightly sloped downward. The completely redesigned front headlights convey the particularly expressive character of the new Superb ‘face’. The Superb now has bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights and LED turning signals for the first time.

The rear of the vehicle has also been completely redesigned.The contour of the lights has been reinterpreted; the C-shape of the rear taillights shines even more brightly than before.For the first time in the Skoda Superb, three light strips make up the C-shaped rear lights that are characteristic of the brand, coming standard as LEDs. Two new cubist triangles below the boot lid are additional unmistakable elements of the new Skoda design.

The new Skoda Superb facelift confirms the vehicle’s outstanding capacity. The car features the largest luggage compartment in their class. It offers as much space to its rear seat passengers. It features 157 mm of rear leg room. In addition to an umbrella compartment in the left rear door, there are numerous storage options in both the front and rear of the vehicle.

It includes the jumbo box in the centre console, storage compartments in the doors, under the passenger seat, the roomy glove box, the practical compartment for glasses or even the storage compartment in the folding armrest in the rear seats.This also holds true for the luggage compartment. It is not just gigantic, but also has practical features such as, lockable storage compartments behind the wheel housings, bag hooks and lashing points.

It gets Adaptive Front Light System (AFS) which provides the best possible visual conditions when driving in the dark. AFS guarantees optimum illumination of the road and surroundings in various driving situations. Additional modern assistance system is also available. Hill Hold Control makes it easy to start up slopes without using the hand brake. It gets some safety features like eight airbags, three-point safety belts and height-adjustable head rests. The body of the vehicle is extremely torsion-resistant due to the use of high-strength steel, and the well-balanced chassis ensures stable road holding.

Ford has launched its 2014 Figo at a starting price of Rs.3.97 lakh. The new Ford Figo gets more attractive features. 2014 Figo is available with Wi-Fi option which is one of the important features of the car. It offers two new shades –Mars Red and Paprica red. The color option Mars red and Paprica Red are derived from its EcoSport and Fiesta Sedan respectively. Ford has discontinued the color options- Bright Yellow and Colorado Red.

The Wi-Fi option is available at a price of of Rs. 10,000 and this option can be included to any Variant. It consists of a Wi-Fi dongle. Wi-Fi dongle is used to insert a 3G-enabled SIM card for the Wi-Fi access. The Wi-Fi package also offers blue LED interior lights and black seat covers.

It gets Driver Information System with new function. Driver Information System can display the Average Fuel Economy (AFE) as well as the existing ‘Distance to Empty’(DTE) . The vehicle also gets speed sensing volume controls. The car does not receive any mechanical changes. 2014 Ford Figo is powered by two engine options. It gets the same 1.2 litre Dura Tec petrol and 1.4 litre Dura Torq diesel engine option with 5 speed manual transmission.

Maruti has stopped production of its three-decade old popular car, Maruti 800. The spare parts will be available for customers for the next 8-10 years as per rules.

MSIL Executive Director C.V Raman said, “Now on the 18th of January we have stopped the M-800 production completely. We have to keep all of them (dies and moulds) for the spare parts requirement. We have to continuously meet the customer requirements. That is our duty to make sure that they get all the parts”.

He added,”Our policy is 8 to 10 years we have to keep (the spares available). For all the models which have been phased out till date, we have followed this policy. There could some stock of M800 at the dealer level and I don’t know the exact number.In India, we have a certain regulation today. All the vehicles that sell in India meet the Indian norms”.

Mahindra has showcased two concept bikes at the 2014 Auto Expo. Out of two one is cafe racer, called JcMoto and another one concept bike is  Scrambler. Both the concept bikes have been equipped by individual custom houses based on Centuro. Bikers can modify their bikes with their own interests by using the modifiers. The platform will be safe and reliable for the modifications.

 

 

 

Tata has showcased their Nano Twist Active with an opeanable hatch at the Auto Expo. The Twist Active concept gets a wider  grille, new bonnet trim and a fresh bumpers at the both front and rear. Nano Twist Active comes with an easily accessible boot. The openable tail gate, LED fuel gauge , coolant temperature gauge and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) are the highlights of the car.

It will be available with four speed manual transmission and drum brakes at the both front and rear. The fuel tank capacity of Nano Twist Active is 25 litres. The storage space of  current Nano can be accessed by folding the rear seats while the new Nano Twist Active gets openable hatch.

Hyosung today showcased its naked bike concept RT 125D at the auto expo. RT 125D is making world premiere in india and hyosung wants to gauge the response of the customers before moving towards production. HYosung RT 125D is powered by an 125cc engine developing 13.5PS of power. The macho bike is all about masculinity right from the headlamp to the muffler (which site near the pillion seat). If ever launched at decent price, RT 125D could shake-up the segment for sure

 

 

HYosung which launched Aquila 250 also unveiled its new 250cc bike GD250N in India. GD250N – powered by a 250cc engine generates 28bhp of peak power and 24Nm of peak torque. The naked bike is mated with 6-speed transmission and it gets inverted forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. GD250N gets larger disc brake at the front and the rear. The split seats and underbelly exhaust and muscular looks is sure to grab eyeballs
