Yamaha plans to launch a scooter based on the Ray platform. The new scooter will be the Yamaha Ray 125. It is expected to get similar styling as the current version. This new scooter will get a re-bored version of 113cc engine. The 113cc, 4 stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine in the Ray scooter can produce peak power of 7.1 PS and peak torque of 8.1 Nm.

It will include the same features as in Ray and the Ray-Z such as electric start, fuel gauge, low fuel indicator. It will get some standard features like under seat storage and mobile phone charging point. Yamaha Ray and Ray-Z gets drum brakes at both front and rear while the new 125cc bike will get disc brake at the front.

It will compete with the scooters like TVS Jupiter, Vespa VX125, Activa 125 and Suzuki Access. The company has been working also for the upgraded version of Yamaha FZ-S and Yamaha R15 also.

The Austrian bike maker, KTM is considering the production of 500cc and 800cc bikes in India. The both models will include twin cylinder engine. These bikes will be built domestically which will result in lower production costs and also the lower product cost.

Currently KTM plans to launch full faired version of RC series- RC200 as well as the RC390. The RC300 and RC390 motorcycles have been spotted testing at many places. We can expect the launch of both bikes in mid-2014. It plans to achieve 50,00o units in the coming three years and an overall figure of 2.5 lakhs in five years. It will introduce Husqvarna bikes to India by 2015 through its local manufacturing plant.

Bajaj is ready to launch its quadricycle RE60 and waiting for the approval from the government. The company has showcased the production model of RE60 at the 2014 Auto Expo.

Bajaj Auto President Commercial Vehicles, R C Maheshwari said: “Two years back, we had showcased the RE60… Today we are ready for commercial production of this vehicle. We are just awaiting government notification. Once the government notifies the quadricycle norm, creating a separate category, then it will take the company about 2-4 months for ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) certification. If all goes well, our expectation is that launching the RE60 should be possible by September-October this year. He said the company has set up a production capacity of 200 units per day at the company’s Aurangabad plant, from where it rolls out three-wheelers.”

Bajaj RE60 will be available in three variants with two different types of seating configuration. It includes seat belts at the both front and rear. Bajaj RE60 is powered by a 216cc, liquid cooled, 4 valve, triple spark with Fuel Injection (FI) engine with 5 speed manual transmission. The engine can churn out maximum power of 20 bhp. The fuel options of Bajaj RE60 are CNG, LPG and Gasoline. It can provide the fuel efficiency 37km/l. It has the carbon foot print of 60g/km. It can provide a top speed of 70 km/hr .We can expect the Bajaj RE60 at Rs.1.95 lakhs which is more expensive than a three wheeler.

Yamaha has displayed its FZ-S version 2 at the Auto Expo. The FZ-S gets more changes in the technical specifications rather than the cosmetic changes. It has showcased FZ-S in a new shade- blue. It gets the same larger 153cc engine which uses a carburetor. It will get a new split seat, an all new digital instrument cluster. It will also include redesigned mudguard and exhaust.

At the rear side it also receives some changes like new tail light with sharper design and registration plate enclosure. The refreshed FZ-S version 2 likely to be launched by the end of this year. It will get the competition from the Bajaj Pulsar 150 NS and the upcoming Gixxer.

The Japanese manufacturer, Yamaha plans to bring an updated version of its R15. The company has been working for this new R15 V3. The Special Edition of Yamaha R15 was showcased at the Auto Expo in dual tone colour – Black and Gold. It gets golen colour body graphics and golden alloy rims. It also includes racing exhaust which is not available in the current bike.

Yamaha will introduce the special edition of R15 soon in the country.The Yamaha YZF R15 V3 will receive more changes. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) will be the major upgrade of new R15 V3 which will produce good torque figures. The new R15 V3 is in the development stage now. We can expect the launch of new R15 V3 by the end of this year.

Yamaha has showcased its R25 concept at the Auto Expo. R25 will be the base model for its upcoming 250cc motorcycles from Yamaha. R25 measures 2000 mm in length, 720 mm in width and 1140 mm in height. The Yamaha R25 will get a new 250cc, liquid cooled, four stroke, in-line two cylinder, fuel-injected engine. The engine is mated to six speed gearbox.

It features tubular frame, large air intake and Akropovic exhaust system. The engine of R25 is expected to produce 28-33 PS of peak power approximately. It can offer the fuel economy of 25-30 kmpl. Yamaha may launch this motorcycle by the end of this year. It will compete with the bikes like the upcoming Hero HX250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Honda CBR250R.We can expect the Yamaha R25 at Rs.2.5 lakhs approximately.

Renault has introduced RxL plus, a new variant of Duster at a price of Rs.10.6 lakhs. It comes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual front air bags, brake assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). These features are not available in the RxE variant.
RxL variant gets an optional package which includes Parking sensors, driver seat belt reminder as well as the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual front air bags, brake assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

RXL Plus – Rs.10.60 lakhs
RXL – Rs.9.90 lakhs
RXL (O) – Rs.11.18 lakhs
RXE – Rs.8.90 lakhs

Renault has launched its flagship model Fluence facelift at Rs.14.22 lakh. It gets the same engine petrol as well as diesel engine options. The 2.0 litre petrol engine can develop 137 PS of maximum power output and 190 Nm of maximum torque output. The 1.5 litre K9K turbo diesel engine can churn out 110 PS of peak power and 240 Nm of peak torque. The optional 1.6 litre turbocharged diesel engine option can deliver the maximum power and torque output of 132 PS and 320 Nm respectively.

It is available with both manual and automatic transmission option. It gets CVT transmission option for the petrol variant and six speed manual transmission for the diesel level trims. It gets a new bumper, new alloy wheels and Daytime running LED’s at the front. It features new infotainment system with satellite navigation, new instrument cluster including of both digital and analog displays.The prices of E2 and E4 variants are Rs.14.22 lakh and Rs.15.81 lakh respectively.

Honda has showcased three new models at its stall in Auto Expo. The models are 2014 CBR 1000RR SP, 2014 CB Trigger and 2014 Dream Yuga. The SP version of 2014 CBR 1000RR displayed with certain changes to the engine. This superbike gets a new cylinder head, exhaust system, polished inlet, exhaust valves. It also includes Ohlins suspension and 220 mm Brembo disc brake at the front.

CB Trigger is one of the three models which are showcased in the Auto Expo. CB Trigger is powered by the same 150cc engine with 5 speed gear box. The engine can develop maximum power output of 14 hp and peak torque of 12.5 Nm. It features LED tail lights and digital instrument panel. It includes telescopic forks suspension at the front and monoschock suspension at the rear.

The next one is 2014 Dream Yuga facelift. It offers four new dual shades such as Majestic grey, Sports Black, Sports Red and Vibrant Blue. It receives some changes like 3D Honda emblem, red shock absorbers and chrome finish muffler protector.

TVS plans to launch its updated Wego with an all new engine. The company has displayed this updated Wego scooter at the 2014 Auto Expo. It gets an all new 110cc, CVT i engine. The new engine is derived from the Phoenix 125.The engine is equipped with tailor made simulation and frequency response analysis techniques.

It gets dual colour shade as well as mono tone colour options. It offers the dual colour shades such as Red-Black, White- Black and Grey-Black. It gets the features like a new muffler, parking brakes, digital speedometer, tubeless tyres and an ecometer.

TVS Scooty Zest and Star City + will include the same engine option. We can expect the launch of this updated Wego in the month of April. TVS Scooty Zest and also the Star City + are expected to be launched in the month of April .
