Volkswagen, the German based automobile manufacturer has released the price details with respect to the cut in excise tax. The Company has reduced the Prices of cars such as Polo, Vento as well as Jetta.

The prices of Polo have been reduced by RS.18,000 to Rs.31,000. The prices have been reduced by Rs 14,500-Rs 27,000 for Vento and Rs 38,000-Rs 51,000 for Jetta. This price cut will be same in all states in the country. The company believed that the price cut will give benefits to its customers.

Mr. Arvind Saxena, MD, Volkswagen said, “We welcome the Government’s decision to reduce excise duty on cars and we at Volkswagen have decided to pass on the entire benefit to our customers. We hope this move will help improve the market sentiment in the automotive industry”.

The Japanese car maker, Honda has announced the revised prices of its models as per the excise duty cut. Here you can check out the updated prices of models like Brio, the entry level hatchback, City, Amaze and also new CR-V.

Honda Brio gets the revised price of Rs.3.99 lakhs for its base variant and Rs. 5.99 lakhs for the VX, top end variant. The price of Honda Amaze petrol variant starts at Rs.4.99 lakhs for its base variant and for 7.55 lakhs for its top level trim. Honda Amaze diesel variant now starts at Rs.4.99 lakhs and goes up to Rs.7.49 lakh.

Honda City, the petrol variants now available at a price of Rs.7.19 lakhs to 10.80 lakhs while the City diesel now starts at Rs.8.37 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs.10.90 lakhs for the top-end trim. Honda CR-V, an all new SUV available within the range between Rs.20.25 lakhs to 24.36 lakhs.

General Motors India has launched its Chevrolet Beat facelift with revised prices. The company has reduced the price up to Rs.12, 000 for its variants according to the excise duty cut. It comes with redesigned grille, head lamps, rear spoiler as well as the bumper.  The top end variant features alloy wheels, a new grille, steering mounted controls, LED inserts with sporty reflectors and Chrome inserts on fog lamps. The top end variant also includes the safety features like dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD).

Beat facelift gets the same both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2 litre, 4 –cylinder inline DOHC petrol engine is coupled to 5 speed manual gear box. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 80.5 hp and peak torque of 108 Nm. The 936cc, 3 cylinder in-line TCIC engine which can deliver peak power of 58.5 hp and peak torque of 150 Nm.

The both petrol and diesel engine can provide an ARAI- certified mileage of 18.6 kmpl and 25.44 kmpl respectively. The new facelift receives a new silver interior and heigh adjustable driver seat. It is available with eight shades like Super Red, Cocktail Green, Switch Blade Siver, Misty Lake, Sandrift grey, Summit White, Linen Beige and Caviar black.

Renault, the French automobile manufacturer has unveiled its all new 1598cc fuel efficient engine. The 1.6 litre diesel engine can churn out maximum power output of 160 hp and maximum torque output of 380 Nm.

The engine has been equipped with two turbos which can lead the engine to produce good power output figures. The first turbo is used to produce high amount of low-end torque. So that the engine can deliver the fast power output and acceleration. The 90% of maximum torque can be produced at 1500 rpm. The second turbo is tuned to develop good power figures. This turbo can be able to generate maximum power output of 100 hp per litre of engine capacity.

The Company has given this engine with better fuel efficiency and lowest Co₂ emissions. It includes a transverse water flow system which leads to the faster cooling of combustion champer. The new engine has incorporated with its F1 expertise in the field of “sophisticated turbochargers”, cooling and also the friction reduction. This engine will be available in its upcoming D and E segment models.

LML (Lohia Machinery Limited), the UP based manufacturer has launched its Star Euro 150. It is the first automatic scooter from LML for the country. The Star Euro 150 gets retro styling design and it measures 1760 mm in length, 695 mm in width and 820 mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance of this scooter is 1260 mm and 160 mm respectively.

The Star Euro 150 is powered by 150.82 cc, single-cylinder, four stroke,vertical engine. The engine can generate maximum power output of 9.38 hp at 8200 rpm. The engine is coupled to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox. The overall weight of the scooter is 112 Kg.  It can offer a top speed of 90 Km/hr. It uses the hydraulic dampers for front suspension and helical springs for rear suspension.

LML Star Euro 150 gets drum brake at the both front and rear. The top two model gets front disc brake option. The fuel tank capacity of the scooter is 7 litre. It gets a fuel efficiency of 55 kmpl. LML offers Star Euro 150 with seven type of shades like lack gold, cipria red, éclair brown, glicine blue, lilac blue (purple), multi-shade and pearl white. The Vespa LX will be the major competitor for this automatic scooter.

Kawasaki, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer plans to launch its Z250, naked street version of Ninja 250. The company has already unveiled this 250cc naked version at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. It gets 249cc, parallel-twin, liquid cooled, fuel-injected engine with 6 speed gear box.  The engine is derived from the Z250 engine. The engine can churn out peak power of 32.5 bhp at 11,000 rpm and peak torque of 22 Nm. The engine is mated to six speed gearbox.

 

The Z250 measures 750 mm in width and 1025 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1405 mm. The overall weight of the bike is 168 Kg. It  includes a compact headlamp cowl, new speedometer with white LED, redesigned side mirrors, diamond shaped chassis which provides higher stiffness.

It gets wider handlebars, redesigned instrument cluster which includes analog tachometer, fuel indicator and multi function LCD screen displays. Kawasaki will import this  Z250 as a CKD (Completely Knocked down Units) in India. We can expect the price of  this naked street bike  at a price of Rs. 3 lakhs approximately. The major competitors are Inazuma 250, CBR 250R and Duke 200. It will launch the Z250 in India by mid 2014.

Yamaha, the Japanese manufacturer plans to bring an updated version of R15. The company has been working on this new R15 V3. The Yamaha YZF R15 V3 will receive more changes. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) will be the major upgrade of new R15 V3 which will produce good torque figures.

It is expected to get an engine option with above 150cc but below 200cc. So the R15 V3 will get an all new liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder (150-200cc) engine. The new power train option may develop maximum power output of 20 Ps. The V2 version of R15 gets sporty tyres with longer wheelbase while the V3 version may include the same specification or otherwise it will include new tyres.

Absolutely,the new R15 bike will include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The new R15 V3 still present in the development stage. We can expect the launch of new R15 V3 by the end of this year.

Honda plans to launch commuter segment bike in Dream series. The new Dream bike will be the third in that segment. The company has been working on this new bike which will be added to its Dream segment. Currently Dream Yuga and Dream Neo are the available bikes in that segment.

The company plans to set up a new plant by investing Rs.1100 crore at Ahmadabad in Gujarat. It will be the fourth plant of Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India’s (HMSI) fourth plant. It is expected to be operational in 2015 with a capacity to build 12 lakhs vehicles per year.

The new Dream series will get a refreshed 109 cc, single cylinder, 4 stroke, air-cooled, Spark Ignition (SI) engine. The engine can churn out maximum power output of 8.4 PS. The existing bikes of Dream series have this same power train option. It will include alloy wheels, advanced body design with stylish graphics, tubeless tyres, instrument console and also the disc brake option. It will hold a lot of innovative features.  The new Dream series bike will be launched by mid 2014. We can expect the price of this bike in the range between Rs. 49,155 – Rs.52, 841.

According to the excise duty reduction in the Interim Budget, the prices of  cars and bikes will be reduced. The Vehicle manufactures  announce the revised prices as per the excise duty reduction. Excise duty on motorcycles and small cars should be reduced from 12% to 8%.  Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) will come down to 24% from 30%. The large cars should come with 20%-24%. The excise duty will be applicable up to June 20, 2014.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has announced that it will give 4% reduction on two wheeler as per the excise duty. The reduction starts at Rs 1600 on its Dream Neo and up to Rs. 7600 on CBR 250R.

Hero Motocorp has declared that the it will follow  4% – 6% excise duty reduction with the maximum amount of Rs.4500.  DSK Hyosung has released the amount of price cut on its vehicles. It will reduce Rs. 10,000 to 12,000 on their bikes.

In Cars segment, Nissan  the Japanese auto maker has released the price details of its cars such as Micra, Micra Active, Terrano and Teana. The cars Micra, Micra Active and Terrano will get 4% excise duty reduction while the Teana will get 3% . Terrano is expected to get 6% excise duty reduction. India’s largest car maker, Maruti will reduce the prices of its cars. It will announce the new revised price list.
