Yamaha to introduce new shades for R15 and FZ-S

Yamaha, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer plans to introduce new color options for both R15 and FZ series bikes. It had already showcased their limited edition of R15 at the 2014 Auto Expo. The R15 limited edition gets the dual tone shade –Black and Gold.

The limited edition gets body graphics and alloy rims in golden shade. It offers racing exhaust which is not present in the current R15 bikes. Yamaha will launch the special edition of R15 soon in the country. The company has been working on their updated models namely, R15 FZ-S and also the Ray scooter.

The updated R15 will receive more changes. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) will be the major update which will lead the new R15 in order to produce good power and torque figures. The updated FZ-S gets mote technical changes rather than the cosmetic changes. It will include redesigned 170cc engine which can deliver the maximum power output of 17 Ps. It can generate greater torque outputs than the current engine. It offers new tail light, exhaust split seats and clear lens indicators. Here you can check out the color options for R15 and FZ-S.

Pulsar SS400 – Pictorial Review

Bajaj has showcased their all new Super Sports motorcycle Pulsar SS400 along with the fresh Pulsar CS400, Cruiser Sports motorcycle. The Pulsar SS400 gets aggressive and sporty look. We all know that the company will launch the Pulsar SS200, the lower capacity version of Pulsar SS400 first, followed by SS400.

The front of SS400 gets twin projector headlamps and the sides of headlamp are coated with yellow shade.  Thus the front eyebrow graphics gets dark yellow shade which gives the modern look to the bike. The front fairing gets two LED pilot lamps above the headlamp. It also gets standard clip on handlebars.  It gets the same turn indicators which are already employed at the KTM Duke bikes. It sports the windscreen which can help the biker by keeping the wind resistance minimum. It will maintain the constant high speed to reach the destination.

It gets derived 375cc, four stroke, single cylinder engine platform from KTM Duke 390. The engine will include triple spark technology. It will feature Anti-lock Braking system(ABS).

Tata launches Aria Facelift at Rs 9.95 lakhs

Tata has launched the facelifted version of Aria at a price of Rs. 9.95 lakhs. The Aria facelift comes with more changes on its interior and also the exterior side. It includes new projector headlamps, clear lens tail lights and side decals. It is powered by refined VARICOR diesel engine.  The engine can churn out maximum power of 150 hp and maximum torque of 320 Nm. The engine can deliver an ARAI certified mileage of 15.05 kmpl. It is available in three variants like Pride, Pleasure and Pure.

The top level trim, Pride gets standard features such as GPS navigation system, cooled glove box, cruise control, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, reverse parking sensors and Harman music system. The top level trim is equipped with lots of safety features such as six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

The middle level variant, Pleasure includes double DIN stereo system, steering mounted audio controls, chilled glove box, defogger and rear wiper as a standard features. This variant includes the safety features like reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD and front airbags. It also receives full chrome grille, and body colored roof rails at the front side.

The base level trim, Pure gets sunglass holder, electric ORVMs, remote central locking, rear air-con vents and follow me home lamps.

Honda Activa 125 – Complete Specifications

Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) had unveiled their 125cc scooter, Activa 125 at the 2014 Auto Expo. Honda also plans to launch this scooter in the country. Now the company has officially revealed the specification of Activa 125.

Activa 125 will include 124.9cc, four stroke, air-cooled petrol engine option with V-matic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). It can generate maximum power output of 8.6 bhp at 6500 rpm. The engine can deliver a peak torque of 10.12 Nm at 5500 rpm.

It measures 1814 mm in length, 704 mm in width and 1151 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1260 mm and 765 mm of seat height as same in the existing model. So the new Activa 125 cc is 53 mm longer and 4 mm taller than the existing model. The Activa 125 cc is 6 mm thinner than the current Activa.

It gets the tyres with the size of 90/90 R12 at the front and 90/100 R10 at the rear side. The front of the scooter gets 190 mm optional disc brake while the rear gets 130 mm drum brakes with optional Combi brake system. The Combi brake system provides shorter braking distance with more stability. It is available in four new shades such as midnight blue metallic, Pearl sunbeam white, Sword silver metallic and Black. It also get the features like five spoke alloy wheels, under seat storage option and new digital speedo meter.

LML to introduce 5 new scooters

LML plans to launch five new scooters which is based on the classic design of LML Vespa. Since 2007, the company has been exporting a large no of scooters to Europe. LML will introduce five new scooters which is mainly targeting men over next year.

LML, Head of sales and marketing, PS Choudhary said, “We want to bring the real scooter for men back into the market. Companies have launched scooters centered around men in the recent past but they are basically women’s scooters with cosmetic changes”.

He added, “Our research suggests a significant portion of scooter buyers are male and 70% of them use it individually. They buy the scooters for the convenience and do not have too many options. It’s a big gap, we think with our lineage can fill. Our scooter is not in competition with the ‘male’ scooters from Yamaha, Suzuki or Hero.”

Hero launches HF Deluxe Eco at Rs.50,500

Hero Motocorp has launched its commuter motorcycle, HF Deluxe Eco at Rs.50, 500. It had unveiled the HF-Deluxe Eco at the press conference in Gurgaon. The company has also showcased this HF-Deluxe Eco at the 2014 Auto Expo. It comes with a new Eco green paint scheme.

HF-Deluxe Eco is powered by 97.2cc, four stroke, air cooled, single cylinder, OHC engine with four speed gearbox. It can produce maximum power output of 7.7 bhp at 7500rpm and maximum torque output of 8.04 Nm. It includes telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and Swing arm with 2 step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at rear.

It is equipped with drum brake at both front and rear. It receives some cosmetic changes like addition of air foils and restyled mirrors. It has added low rolling friction tyres. It gets the same side stand indicator, clear lens indicators, trapezoidal multi reflector headlamp, fuel tank, bikini fairing, seat and alloy wheels.

Tata to launch Aria facelift on March 12

Tata Motors plans to launch their face lifted version of Aria on 12th of this month. The facelift receives more changes on its interior as well as the exterior. The automatic gear box option is an important update of this facelift. It will include some cosmetic changes like new headlamp design and smoked tail lamps.

The updated Aria will include refined VARICOR version of its four cylinder, 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine option with 5 speed manual transmission option. This engine is already employed in the Safari Storme. The updated engine is expected to produce maximum power output of 148 bhp and maximum torque output of 320 Nm. The engine can return an ARAI certified mileage of 15.05 kmpl.

It will get the features such as full leather upholstery, electrically powered mirrors,17 inch alloy wheels and Navigation system. The top end variant Pride will also offer climate control, 6 airbags, ESP, TCS, Harman music system with 6 speakers and 17 inch alloy wheels. The other variants will include17 inch steel wheel option. The company will launch this Aria facelift at Chennai on March 12. It will also launch the Movus MUV, the updated version of Sumo Grande on that day.

Maruti launches LDiX Limited Edition variant of Swift Dzire

Maruti has launched LDiX , limited edition of Swift Dzire LDi variant at Rs.6.86 lakhs. The limited edition is equipped with accessories worth of Rs.46, 500. This limited edition is available only with the diesel engine option. The limited edition LDiX is based on the entry level diesel trim with lots of features.

It sports the same 1.3 litre diesel engine option which can generate maximum power output of 74 bhp. The special edition gets more additional features such as power windows, double- DIN music system with four speakers, integrated turn indicators, front fog lamps, body colored OVRM, day/night rear view mirror, passenger side vanity mirror, central locking with remote control option.

Lamborghini India delivers outstanding results in the brand

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has announced strong sales numbers in India for the year ended 31st December, 2013.  The year saw a significant growth for the extreme Italian super sports car brand.The company has recorded double-digit growth of 29 per cent after having sold 22 units in 2013 as against 17 units in 2012.
