Tata Nano to get a diesel engine

No matter which way the singur controversy goes, Tata is firm on its stand to roll out Nano on time. While the Chairman sticks to his stand, Nano engineers follows him. They are working hard to fit a diesel engine in the nano. Similar to the petrol mill, the nano diesel engine will be a two cylinder unit. Media reports claims that Tata is producing a  684cc diesel mill for the Nano. It was earlier reported by media that Tata was producing an 800cc Common Rail diesel engine jointly with FEV – an independent engine and powertrain systems research, German headquartered company. Whether Tata is producing 684cc or 800cc engine? one thing is sure Nano would get a diesel engine by 2010.

For the nano diesel, Tata will come up with a killer price. Nano Diesel is expected to be priced around Rs2 lakh. Don’t hurry up, Tata Motors plans to launch a nano diesel early 2010.
