Chevrolet debuted the beat concept along with the Trax and Groove at New York two years ago. GM will bring this new spark (possibly in another name) to India by 2010

Renault has given the green light to the Sandero hatchback (code: B90) due for launch in the 2009-10 financial year.Earlier the hatchback was planned to build from Renault-Nissan?s all-new manufacturing facility near Chennai.Due to the current slowdown in the automobile industry, both the Logan and the Sandero production would be shifted and could be produced in M&M?s Nashik facility.

Yet another vicky.in exclusive, four days before the actual launch of Mahindra Xylo. We reveal you the specification,Variants and Colours of Mahindra Xylo. First and foremost one, similar to the m_hawk engine for scorpio, Xylo gets an advanced m_eagle engine. Xylo’s engine is christened as m_eagle. Xylo m_eagle is a 2.5L unit developing 112bhp at 3800 rpm and 240Nm of peak torque. The peak torque will be available from as low as 1800rpm to 3000rpm. According to Mahindra, the xylo can fly past 60kmph in just 8.1seconds. Also Mahindra offers plenty of options for the Xylo buyers, Xylo will be available in as many as four variants. Xylo variants are e2,e4,e6 and e8.

Dimensions
Xylo is mm in 4525length,1770mm wide and 1880mm height and a 2760wheelbase of mm. Xylo has a longer wheelbase than the Innova and sources who seen the car tells us that Xylo would be most spacious car in the segment. Xylo is also a true MPV with a seating capacity of eight. E2 variant of Xylo has optional seating capacity of nine. Turning radius of Xylo is at decent 5.4m. Xylo has ample ground clearance of 186mm which will help you to sail over Indian roads with ease. Xylo fuel tank can hold 55litres of fuel.
Mechanicals
The 1750kg Xylo is powered by the 2.5L CRDe m_Eagle engine. Mahindra offers five speed manual transmission for Xylo . Xylo does not comes with automatic transmission, Xylo A/T is not even an optional one. Also there is no four wheel drive (4WD) for Xylo. Mahindra which has built the Xylo on an all new platform sports Independent coil spring suspension at the front and non independent multi line coil spring system at the rear. Xylo features disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. Xylo runs on 215/75 R15 tyres
Colours
Xylo which comes in four variants comes in eight attractive colours. You can pick Xylo on these colours – fiexy black,reador red java brown,minty green,lucky lilar,gold shimmer, rocky beige and mist silver. You can pick black or walnut interior with any of these exterior colours.

Only last year Volkswagen brought its Jetta to India, but for the global market the current generation jetta is due for a replacement. It seems like Volkswagen has already started working on next generation jetta. From the pictures it seems the new generation 2010 jetta will have longer wheelbase than the current one. That’s a good news for Indian buyers as most of them sit in the back seat. Expect this new jetta in 2012 or 2013.

Electrotherm maker of Yobykes has launched its next generation electric bike YoElectron. “This new model, having telescopic features, is a low- cost option for travelling,” Electrotherm CEO Avinash Bhandari said. Yoelectron is a battery-operated zero-pollution vehicle that can run up to 75 km per charge, and can cover 700 km Rs.50, Bhandari said. The 250W motor vehicle with a 25 km per hour top speed has been cleared by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune. According to Electrotherm, Special features of the YoElectron include improved battery back up and a state-of-the-art motor — two things that count the most in performance of an electronic two- wheeler Yoelectron is available in seven colours. The soft colour range of this model is priced at Rs28,500 and hard colour ones are available for Rs29,000.
Following the Linea and Grande Punto, Fiat may refurbish its decade old workhorse Palio. Brazilian market will see this facelifted Palio first. The facelifted palio features changes in exteriors and interiors. At the front, Fiat has given the 2009 palio redesigned bumper,new headlamps and new grille. The new grille is modern and cuts into the bumper well giving the 2009 palio a contemporary look. We seen this kind of styling in every modern hatchbacks – Hyundai i10 and Suzuki’s A-star are obvious examples. Seems like Fiat has sourced parts from siena for this 2009 palio. However the rear remains unchanged. It was recently reported by autocar Fiat may give palio an all new dashboard to extend the car’s lifeterm. Joining the dots, we can expect a moderate facelift for palio in 2009 or early 2010. Fiat will launch the facelifted palio in Brazil in a few weeks tims. As the next generation Palio is expected by end 2010 or early 2011, expect this facelifted 2009 palio soon in India.

General Motors which has been awarding exciting offer plans to hike the prices of spark and optra. General Motors will raise its car prices by 1-2 per cent from Jan 9. Spark could become costlier by Rs 3,000 and Optra will become expensive by Rs 10,000. Captiva will also see a price raise in the similar range.
Honda which recently pulled off Formula one championship and announced cancellation of its NSX project on account of global meltdown, says there is no change in proposed plan for the Indian market. Honda has confirmed the launch of its new “A” segment small car in India. The new A-segment which Honda will produce in its Rajasthan plant will be positioned below the Jazz – Honda’s upcoming model. Honda’s new A-segement car will be in the likes of Suzuki Alto (A-star) and Hyundai i10. Honda will produce the new small car with minimal reliance of imported raw materials. Honda’s Indian small car will hit the market by 2011.

City Diesel:
What could be most exciting news for Honda fans, “a city diesel is on the cards” says Honda. Honda has confirmed that it is developing of a small displacement turbodiesel engine, that can power the Honda City and small cars. 1.4 or 1.5 liter oil burner producing power in various stages of tune ranging from about 60hp to 100hp. These diesele engine will make into the hood of Jazz and City. Going by the support Honda received for petrol models, Jazz diesel and City diesel might sell like hot cakes.
