Nissan launches new Teana and new X-trail

Following our Finance Ministry’s diktat to follow austerity, Nissan India todaylaunches two all new models in a single ceremony today. As you read it, Nissan India launches new X-trail and new Teana in India. The new teana which comes with all new styling also gets a powerful engine. The 2.5L gasoline engine pumps out 182PS of max power and 228Nm of max torque (12PS and 4Nm higher than the outgoing one). The new Teana also gets some exciting features. The new Teana comes in two variants – XL and XV. The new Teana XL version is priced at Rs. 21.03 lakhs and new Teana XV version is priced Rs25.40 lakhs.

The new X-trail resembles outgoing one in larger sense, it is cool and comes with a powerful engine.  The new X-trail powered by a 2.0L Common Rail diesel engine producing 150hp at 4000rpm and 320Nm at 2000rpm.  The new X-trail comes with 6 speed manual transmission as well as in automatic mode.  The new X-Trail LE version is priced at Rs. 20.81 lakh, new X-trail SLK variant is priced Rs. 23.81 lakh and Rs. 25.08 lakh for the SLK Automatic variant.

Yamaha launches V-Max and Special Edition FZ-S and Fazer

As you read it, Yamaha launches the legendary superbike V-max in India. The V-Max is priced Rs20lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). As we told you earlier, Yamaha also launched special edition of FZ-S and Fazer. Both the special edition of FZ-S and Fazer comes with blue and white paint imitating Rossi’s MotoGP bike. FZ-S and Fazer also gets white alloy wheels.

The V-max powered by 1679cc engine pumping out a generous 200PS of peak power and 170Nm of peak torque. The V-Max will be imported as a CBU and will compete with Ducati range of bikes in India.V-max the street bike is known for superior pick-up.

Royal Enfield to launch bikes in Thailand

The premier bike manufacturer in world Royal Enfield has made attempts to enter into the Thailand markets for retailing its bikes. This is in addition to manufacture of parts for all its bikes. The current production scheme, from its Chennai unit, is 50000 units per year for selling in almost 25 countries.

The bikes from this company are in the price range of 85000 to 204000 baht. The price of these bikes in these two countries – India and Thailand- is very high due to the taxation. The company has made a 4-day road show in Thailand exploring for business peers to promote the bikes. The show displayed bikes of fully imported and accessories for the bikes of which 95% are derived from the Chennai plant.

The company, with the prospective increase of business partners, is aiming for 60000 bikes this year and 100000 bikes in the subsequent years.

M&M to build an all-new SUV

The king maker of the giant models of cars, Mahindra & Mahindra is back with boom- an all-new SUV. This follows suit the enchanting sale of Scorpio in the Indian market. The new venture will invite Rs700-Rs800 crore and is a conviction to recover from the grips lost on Jaguar and LandRover to Tatas.

The new car, according to the company’s C and MD, will pay rich dividends with its features and will prove its worth for the money. The vehicle will be designed and built in the company’s Chakan plant and will be on the lines of Scorpio in terms of price. The unconfirmed reports indicate that despite company’s focus on SUV, the car will be in the same identity of a car polished on a SUV, simply a crossover similar to BMW X3, Honda CR-V, Nissan Rouge and Toyota Highlander.

The car will execute total flexibility in terms of market needs. Being right-hand drive/left hand drive,  the basic body will be the same and will fulfil safety requirements. The car is fuel variant – petrol or diesel. The product will be made available in overseas as well as India priced @Rs10lak +.

Audi India plans service centre, showroom in Chennai

The South Indian territory, Chennai is to have a service centre for Audi in the next year to be set by the Bangalore based Jubilant Motors Pvt.Ltd along with a showroom. This will be followed by other major cities like Kolkata and Ludhiana. The present outlets of the company are nine in numbers selling three sedans , A4, A6, and A8 – all assembled at the Volkswagen factory in Pune.This excludes import of TT, R8, Q5 and Q7.

Audi has brought reasonable sale figures to the company in India – 1128 units upto August 2009, a growth of 60% from the last year’s figure. Of the 10000 units in a year for the luxury cars in India, VW is eyeing on clinching fifth share. The Volkswagen is firm in maintaining separate identity for different models.

Nissan

The much talked electric car from Nissan has been temporarily put off to 2011-2012. The initial launch is to be in the company’s homeland,  Japan along with US, and Europe while China may also get the nod during the same period. Once the global launch is over, India may get along the car. The company is exploring all possibilities to launch the car in India at the earliest with the Indian government’s aid awaited.

The present tax rate, 110 import duty, will end up with the car’s price to be doubled. Further the car is designed to be an emission free, in need of full-fledged infrastructure for service and consensus among the central and state governments. Leaf, made known public, last month in Japan last month, will run for 160km on a single charge and would seek the price of gasoline-run cars sans the battery cost. Despite Nissan’s speed break, other companies are at the verge of going ahead with their projects on electric cars.

Bangalore-based Reva Electric car company is in the lead with selling 3000 cars ever since its launch in 2001 of which 50% local market and the other 50% in overseas. With this potential, the company is launching two more models at the Frankfurt Motor Show; the company has the plan to initiate a production factory with the capacity of 30000 units. Tata, for its part, is in tie-up with a Norwegian company Miljobil, in introducing electric version of Indica cars. Tata too faces the cost factor in manufacturing electric cars in India.

Honda launches new City Variant

Honda today launched a new variant of city and upgraded the S-variant.Masahiro Takedagawa, President and CEO, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd said, “We are happy to introduce this new V-Grade in response to our discerning customers’ feedback. With the recently launched Honda Jazz, the refreshed new Honda Civic and now this V-Grade Honda City, we have a whole new line-up for all our customers to choose from”.

The new Variant of City comes with the 5-spoke alloy wheels, front fog lamps, front and rear mud-guards, sport exhaust finisher and chrome door handles. The new V variant of city also comes with beige fabric seats, silver Colored Fan Knob, painted inner door handles, door lining garnish and power windows panel. The car also gets the Dual front tweeters and a driver seat back pocket for added convenience.

The new Honda City will now be available as SMT, VMT and VAT. Additionally, all the variants will be available in 2 types – Elegance and Inspire. Honda City will have an additional colour option Deep Sapphire Blue for a limited period during festive season along with existing colors available in the range.

Honda to launch new City today

Following the launch of new Civic, Honda will launch the new City in a few hours from now. The refereshed city would come with the following changes

Yamaha raises the curtains of 2010 YZF-R1 and YZF-R6

The innovation has duly paid the dividends for Yamaha as its every launch brings laurel. Now it is the time to talk about MotoGP-inspired Crossplane crankshaft technology that accounts for the company’s success rate. The refining version, 2010 YZF-R1 undergoes a minor change in the outlook with the limited edition of it YZF-R1 LE (Valentino Rossi /Fiat Yamaha reminder) appears with “46” and “The Doctor” logos as the fuel tank exhibits the signature of Valentino Rossi.

The other cute, 2010 Yamaha YZF-R6 is an exclusive sports bike, synonymous for high –reviving nature and sans mid-range power. The bike comes with Yamaha advanced Chip Controlled Throttle system and intake system. There is a tweak of ECU for more liner power delivery from lower rpm. The exhaust system is well tuned in tune with the changes made.

All these have made the vehicle get the enhanced low-mid-rev-range. However, there is no compromise on the power delivery of the higher revs. The chassis is built with magnesium sub frame, a titanium exhaust and Controlled –Fill die-cast aluminium chassis tit-bits. It sounds good – Yes Yamaha-
