TVS to launch Star Sport CL 115

You read and see it first at vicky.in

We earlier reported you that TVS will soon two all new models – a powerful scooter and a clutch-less bike. One of  vicky.in reader mailed us pictures of much touted clutch less bike. The clutch less bike similar on the lines of  once popular Hero Honda street. The new bike made on star platform would be christened as “Star Sport CL 115”.  As the name indicates,  Star Sport CL 115 is powered by 115cc engine. It comes with four gears and an automatic clutch. Remember TVS is successfully selling Neo Bebek in Indonesia and mastered the art of making bikes with automatic clutch. Though automatic clutch is boon for city traffic and it will woo customers, TVS knows the mileage and the pricing will be the key in this price conscious segment. The failure of Hero Honda street and Kinetic K4 tells the same. These bikes failed because of the exorbitant pricing.

Coming back to the Star Sport CL 115, the bike also gets few modification on the styling. See the pictures, you can easily spot the FZ-ish tank. The reader says the unlike the FZ, the star sport CL 115 tank is of metal. Except for the tank and absence of clutch lever, the Star City Sport CL 115 resembles the star city i.e it’s not a step-thru.  The Star Sport CL 115 will come with alloy wheels and self start. Overall, TVS aims not just executive segment buyers but also burgeoning scooter buyers with the Star Sport CL 115.

PRICES DOING POLE VAULT

It is not prices that are going to do the pole vault. But the customer will perceive that in the months to come as after a buoyant Diwali season, it is time for celebrations to dissipate and fall back into normality. Now as demand will fall back normal, prices will also fall back to normal rates. Discounts were offered the past quarter due to a sudden jump in demand as everyone celebrated Diwali with less crackers and more vehicles.
You may feel the pinch of a price increase of 8-10%, if you want to buy cars now. Maruti has once again sold the highest number of Cars this season leaving no doubt that it is ‘the household name’ of India. Alto, Ritz, Wagon R and Swift have seen huge sales and a resultant increase in discount – Rs.
40000-45000 during the season. Now this will scale down to Rs. 15000-20000.
General Motors was offering almost a staggering discount of Rs. 50000 owing to a 4706 units sales of its hatchback-flagship Chevrolet Spark taking the total to a 7654 units in September alone including the Taveras, Aveos and the Optras doing well on their part. But now after the season ended, only Rs. 13000 will be offered as a discount according to a reliable company source.
Hyundai was providing a discount of around Rs. 35000 which will be reduced to a mere Rs. 10000 to 15000. Hyundai was scoring well with its hatchbacks i10 and i20.

GM’s futuristic Spark Electra

General Motors is seen wearing Green goggles on and is now saying that the future is green. Our Indian Reva has to be dormant with its ability to launch itself as a well-known household name of battery run cars and less polluting vehicles. Reva’s Cars are less popular because they make low speeding vehicles. In some cases after crash tests, Reva’s Cars were called as Heavy Quadri-cycles and not Cars. Sensing that, the American has come up to add technological advancements and utilize Reva’s facilities. The Reva in return will be providing GM its expertise in manufacturing Electric Cars. Hence, Chevrolet Spark’s battery sibling will be born as Chevrolet’s Spark-Electra.
The Customers are well aware that the market is not fully ripe for Electric Cars and they know that further technological advancements have to be done in order to avoid technological inconvenience during usage. So they are remaining silent for the moment opting for Fuelectric Hybrids or high mileage diesel variants. In fact, the customers are waiting for technological advancements to take place in the Electric Cars sector.
GM is looking at an initial success of a four thousand to six thousand Electric Cars in India by next year and it expects Electric Cars to occupy 5% of India’s mini car market.
