Union Cabinet has approved the Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill proposed for this year. The newly proposed penalties are much higher than the older ones. Starting from Rs.500, the penalty range goes up to Rs.1 lakh. For drunken driving, the person has to pay a fine of Rs.10,000.
