Maruti on the second day of auto expo shown two new concepts – Ignis and Baleno RS. Ignis concept was first shown in Japan and it is expected to be the maruti entry level suv in the indian market. Powered by the 1.2L petrol engine developing 88.79bhp of peak power and 118Nm of peak torque is said to return a mileage of 22kmpl. Ignis will sit below the vitara brezza and will take on the likes of Mahindra KUV 100. Ignis will be sold through NEXA dealerships
Baleno RS: riding on the success of baleno, maruti has unveiled performance variant of Baleno called Baleno RS. Baleno RS powered by a 1.0L boosterjet engine generating max power of 110bhp and peak torque of 175Nm. With the boosterjet engine, Baleno RS will take on the likes of polo GTI, punto abarth and more. This engine is compact yet deliver exceptional performance on the likes of Ford Ecoboost engine which powers the Ecosport. Maruti will integrate this engine on future swift and dzire models if it succeeds with Baleno RS
