Honda has unveiled its new 1.6-litre diesel engine at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show. Honda claims that this 1.6-litre engine is the lightest engine in its class which will emit up to 95g/km of CO2 and it will be the first in a series of efficient units under the Earth Dreams Technology banner.
The new 1.6-litre engine of Honda has an engine displacement of 1596cc and will churn out a peak power of 118bhp at 4000rpm and 30.55kgm of maximum torque at 2000rpm. By this year end, the new Civic will feature this 1.6-litre diesel engine.
Mr.Manuba Nishiru, Honda Motor Europe president said that with their Earth Dream Technology, they aim to be number one in terms of engine emissions within three years.
