Audi launches A4

Audi today launched the new A4 in India. Similar to the global market, the new A4 in India will challenge the Mercedes C-class and BMW 3 series. “We are expecting to sell 1,000 of our cars in the Indian market in 2008 as compared to 350 cars last year on the back of growing demand for luxury cars in the market. The new Audi A4 will be a crucial product to help us achieve this goal,” Audi India’s Managing Director, Benoit Tiers said.The man responsible for the new look is the Italian ex-Alfa Romeo designer, Walter Da Silva. The new A4 comes with an attractive big grille and the dramatic headlights with string of distinctive LED daytime running lamps.The new Audi A4 is comes with a choice two refined, powerful engines – the 2.0 TDI multitronic with a power-output range of 105 kW (143 bhp) and the 3.2 FSI tiptronic Quattro with 195 kW (265 bhp). Both of them use the direct fuel injection principle – FSI technology for the petrol engine and the common-rail system for the TDI unit.The Audi A4 will come with high standard equipments to India, including features previously known only from upper segments. Audi brings the Multi Media Interface (MMI) as available option to the Audi A4, additionally the Optical Parking System with rear-view camera and the Bang & Olufsen Sound System. Initially, Audi will import the A4 into the country, and by the end of this year, the German carmaker will start assembling the car at its Aurangabad plant.The price of the new A4 ranges starts from 29,00,000 INR and goes upto Rs36lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai).
