Kawasaki,with an intention to expand its Indian market portfolio,planned to launch Z250 and ER-6N on October 16.Both the mtorcycles Z250 and ER6n are the naked versions of the existing Ninja 300 and Ninja 650 respectively.In addition to this,Z250 had been already displayed in its dealerships while the ER-6N is under testing.
Regarding Z250,it is a quarter litre streetbike that got nourished with the styling traits of Z800.Further the features like tail-section,exhaust,part-analogue-part-digital instrument cluster with a large tachometer and digital display for speedometer,odometer,fuel gauge,Y-spoke alloy are seem to be shared from that of Ninja 300,thus Z250 proves to be a naked version of Ninja 300.The motorcycle is to be powered up liquid cool,parallel twin engine with displacement measuring 249cc.The engine tends to produce the power at the maximum of 32 PS at 11,000 rpm and peak torque of 21Nm at 9000 rpm,that gets transmitted to the rear wheels via the six-speed gearbox.The engine is found to be built on chassis of type diamond steel frame.
The suspension setup conssits of 37 mm telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear end.Braking is applied through the means of single 290mm petal disc at the front and 220mm petal disc at the rear.Sadly,ABS is not found to be offered even as an option.With all such features being loaded,Kawasaki Z250 is expected to arrive at the price tag of around Rs3 lakhs.It seesm to play a tough role against KTM 390 in the two-wheeler segment.
When it comes with the Kawasaki ER-6n,it is obvious it is the striped down version of Ninja 650 with the presence of features like fuel tank,tail section,seats and fenders.However,there are certain features like stubby headlight,fuel tank and extensions and exposed radiator that makes it distinct from its siblings.It has been designed to be powered up by a 649cc,liquid-cooled motor generating at 72PS at 3,500 rpm and peak torque of 64Nm at 7000rpm.This power gets transmitted to the rear wheels via six-speed gearbox.
The engine is being built on a tubular diamond type frame.The suspension system consists of 41mm telescopic forks at the front and preload adjustable mono-shock setup at the rear.dual semi-floating,petal disc brakes at the front and single 220mm petal disc at the rear takes care of the braking functionality.One can expect its price range from Rs 30 to 40,000.
