Honda’s new compact SUV XR-V has been unveiled at the 17th Chengdu Motor Show.We are expecting it’s launch to be happen in India by the end of this year as per the statement made by the company at the 2013 Tokyo Motorshow that it is keen to bring the product in India.The new model is based on the same platform as that of Honda Fit.It will be produced by the Dong feng Honda reflecting the Chinese version of the Vezel , yet some changes have been made to the XR-V at its rear portion to give a completly new look.The slimmer tail-lamps and restyled bumperand a different front and back, including a sleeker grille and more rectangular styled taillights adds stylish look to the compact SUV.It will be available in two petrol variants with displacement worth 1.5- and 1.8-litres,both gets mated to a 5-speed manual or CVT.The XR-V is 4275mm long, 1770mm wide and 1605mm high,while the car sits on the wheelbase measuring 2610mm. Comfortness is provided in such a way it is spacious enough to accomodate upto five passengers.Such a compact SUV would compete with Peugeot 2008, Chevrolet Trax and Suzuki Vitara.
