Recently,the new premium variant of the electric car e20 was launched by the Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles, a part of the Mahindra Vehicle,at an affordable price of Rs 5.72 lakh (on road Delhi).Further to make the car more affordable,company had launched an innovative scheme in the name of “Good Bye Fuel,Hello Electric” .This program tends to separate the initial acquisition cost and the usage cost in terms of battery and its maintainance.This provision enables one to save money by allowing him to pay only for what he drives.The company planned to charge a monthly energy fee of Rs 2,999 that allow the customers to drive about Rs 50,000 kms for a period of five years.
The engine has been tuned up in a way to produce the power in an efficient manner such that the new model will get an additional range of 40 km with 80 km offered with the earlier e20.Most of the features like a touchscreen infotainment system, reversing camera and assist and electrically adjustable wing mirrors are retained from that of its predecessor. Chetan Maini ,CEO of Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles stated that “Convenience of city driving has always been a priority for Mahindra Reva.”.This was accomplished with the aid of electric steering that was given as a provision,to endure with the urban locality conditions.
