As mentioned earlier today, Tata Motors has showcased the MegaPixel concept at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show held today. The new four-seater MegaPixel is a city-smart global range extended electric vehicle (REEV) concept.
The MegaPixel features four electric motors that are mounted on each wheel. The motors are powered by a 13kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery pack offering an all-electric range of 86km. The petrol option is powered by a 325cc single cylinder engine delivering a power of 30bhp. The petrol motor of MegaPixel reaches over 900km and offers a top-speed of 110kmph.
The turning circle of the MegaPixel is around 5.6 metres which stands as its impressive feature. MegaPixel also features double sliding doors and accommodates a wide range of power train options including hybrid and full-electric sources. The interior looks spacious holding a large touchscreen sits in the centre console. The next-gen Nano for the European market could borrow the styling cues from the MegaPixel.
Mr. Prakash M. Telang, Managing Director – India Operations, Tata Motors, said, “The Tata Megapixel, developed by our design centres in India, the UK and Italy, is our idea of a city car for discerning motorists in any megacity of the world. It is a result of the progress we have made on the Tata Pixel, displayed last year, and also denotes the company’s future design direction.”
