Tata Motors has finally come out with its enquiry report on the fire incident related to its cheapest car Nano. The report adduces foolproof that there is no worry on the safety of the car. The investigation was carried out by 20-member team from the Tata Motors Group- including the Nano [images] project team, passenger and commercial vehicles businesses, the Engineering Research Centre, the Tata Motors European Technical Centre, and Jaguar Land Rover, including an outside forensic expert. However, the investigation seems to have forced Tata to have a comprehensive pre-emptive checks on all Nanos from May 24. This, the company made it clear, that is not a sort of recall. It may be remembered that the fire incident took place in March 2010 when a Nano got fire due to the link of an alien object with the exhaust system. Another Nano got fire when the owner was taking it to the dealer for service due to fuel line snag. All these indicated the trouble free Nano of manufacturing defects.
